it was my last day in Italy and i had reserved a 125cc Vespa to take around town exploring Naples. when i got to the rental place though, i was informed they had messed up and rented the scooter to someone else. the only one they had left was 300cc, and was ready to be picked up a few miles away at the airport. i had met this girl while i was in croatia that ended up in italy with us, and since she had nothing to do that day she asked to tag along for whatever roads my two wheels ended up on. so we hopped in a Fiat and went to the airport to grab the freeway legal Vespa.

it was there that i found out that the Amalfi Coast was 40 minutes away, and since i had been dreaming of riding a moped down its winding roads since i was a kid, i took one look at my co-pilot and told her to hold on tight. 

we followed the Italian road signs as best we could and after making a few wrong turns we ended up in Amalfi, drinking Aperol Spritzes in the ocean. we went all the way to Sorento, after after another Aperol we made the impulse decision to get matching Vespa tattoos.

by the time we finished, it was about an hour til sundown, so we started making our way back to Naples for dinner with some friends. Naples is more or less West of Amalfi, which meant i was literally driving into the sun. i was nervous and crazy focused, and this song started looping in my head. i asked olivia to take my phone out and start a voice memo, and right there, on the highway of Naples, driving into the sun was born. i didn't change a single word from that initial recording, which i ended up sampling throughout the song.

this is the last song on daddy's money, but daddy's money has no ending. daddy's money is infinite, and daddy's money is for the people. long live daddy's money.

Love is, and always will be, something that brings out the best and worst in all of us. 

I always thought I knew how to go about loving something, whether it was a person, a thing, an experience or myself. Time and time again, I am shown that that love is not what I was taught or know it to be. 

I am always thankful for any moment that shows me just how little I know, especially when it comes to the things I have always believed to be true. In my brief time away, I have had many of those moments, and that"s where this song comes from. A special person, a tough situation, the feelings of love, pain, loss and gain all combined into a beautiful and heavy moment.

This is about knowing that what you want is to love, but never being able to get it right.

yo! im peter! im an artist from the bay area, now livin in la! i make pop music and try to spread mental health awareness through everything i do! ive been playing guitar since i was 7 and grew up on literally everything from worship music, to classic rock, blues, pop, etc. im heavily inspired by people like john mayer, the 1975, lewis capaldi, and honestly all of my friends. during my senior year of high school i made my first song and put it out for my friends and family to hear. it ended up getting on some pretty cool playlists and hit 100,000 plays on Spotify alone within the first couple months of its release, and it honestly changed my lifethe response i got from the song was just insane i received hundreds of dms from people saying how much the song had affected their life. it wasnt until that song came out, that i had realized how much potential there was to make an impact on youth culture through my music. a few months later though, i had ended up losing my brother in law to suicide in 2018. the last thing he posted on his facebook page was a link to stream my first song. it was an insanely rough time for me, my family, and everyone around me. it broke us. as i kept making music over the years though, ive received thousands and thousands of dms, mostly from random people saying that my music had really helped them. at this point, im still thinking to myself that maybe if i wrote some of these songs earlier--that maybe my brother in law would still be here?  those dms i received, conversations i had, etc. have really put a lot on my heart and a ton of purpose in my soul to continue doing what i'm doing. i truly hope that you can connect with my music and that it can give you an escape to help you build new perspectives. 

this song i am dropping, wishing, is one of the more recent songs ive made. i wrote it about the idea of being in a relationship where BOTH of you are toxic. you're always breaking up, getting back together, acting like you don't care when you really do, etc. and for some reason you can't seem to make the final decision to just walk away and end things. i wrote it in hopes of inspiring you to stop letting yourself stay in pointless situations where you're constantly hurt, over & over. i hope you stop "wasting your life" away with unnecessary BS whether that be your relationships, your job, etc.

Music is a universal language--truly loved by all. Through creating this song, both Morgxn and I were able to find some peace during these tumultuous times.  

The origin story: The introduction actually began at a Halloween party hosted at Charli XCX"s home. Fast forward to the pandemic, Morgxn sends me a very special vocal he had written in London just before the lockdown. The message and lyrics resonated so deeply that I had to create a song that truly represented how I felt.

Though the song was written before our society shutdown--it had more meaning during.  This song is about the idea of craving touch that feels euphoric and cathartic. After dealing with 2 years of physical separation from our loved ones, this song is a celebration of togetherness and our love for each other.

this song child of mine, called "out of focus", is particularly special because it represented a much-needed return to form for me at a very difficult time. music creators can probably relate to the idea that your creative process evolves drastically as you become deeper enveloped by the industry. although i can stay busy with sessions every day sometimes weeks will go by and i"ll realize i haven"t touched a piano once. songwriting was born as a sacred, solo activity for me: sitting, emoting at the piano, having no idea what i was doing. so although i am grateful that now i can create a song in a multitude of ways, i can start burning out or feeling inexplicably lost if i spend too much time away from the form that brought me to love this expression in the first place. fuel that with a tasty breakup, and this song had everything i needed. i sat, and wrote this top to bottom at the piano, no pre-conceived concept, or melody, or worry if the chorus was "lifting" enough, or if i was being original enough... just did what my instincts wanted to do. i wrote this about feeling pushed away by a person, but as i listen to it now it takes on a new meaning feeling often shoved aside with my career as well. she"s truly one of my favorites, and i hope you it makes you feel something

i had gotten back to LA and met someone that things just sort of snowballed with. i was supposed to fly back out to Europe a few days but cancelled my flight and spent every night more or less with her. i"d started an idea with my friend Mia before leaving that perfectly incapsulated the impulsiveness i was feeling. so i rounded it out and thus "44 ever" was born.

i started this song in the fall of 2021 after a fight with a family member. i felt so misunderstood and frustrated by how childish and inconsequential the fight was - on my way home i wrote the first lyric you said some things you never meant that you thought you did. as time passed, the fight that started with my family member shifted to one between me and myself. i was so disappointed at how much energy i let the entire situation take from me - the song became as much about a fight with myself as it is about a fight with someone else.  

in that moment i was certain that my relationships with my family member & myself would forever be deeply altered. but nothing actually changed - my wounds were just paper cuts. i wrote the lyric you dont hurt like you think you do, like a bug but i just scratch right through - and the rest of the song fell into place. i realized i wasnt writing about being angry or disappointed - i was writing about the power and amusement of realizing your own strength.

i produced the bones of the song as i wrote it. as the emotion of the song changed, i tried to make the songs darker, grittier elements to work in a light, playful way - the muted guitars and distorted bass line still drive the song, but the chord changes feel less serious. i sent the entire project over to my friend struan finlay in new zealand to fill out the rest of the production.

Beauty School Dropout

Remember that thing you couldnt free yourself from? The habit, the relationship, the mindset. The one that you know will crush you if you stay in any longer.. this is Assassin.

Shortly after signing our deal with the new venture between Mark Hoppus, Pete Wentz, and Sherry Saeedi called Verswire we began a month long stint of writing sessions geared toward creating new music for our next project so we could come out of the gates swinging. In these sessions Assassin was born.

Assassin came from a session with a writing and production group called the Four Horsemen (Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourn, Highly Suspect, Carrie Underwood, Buckcherry, Kelly Clarkson, etc.)

Going into the process, we said our goal is Bieber level hooks with the heaviest guitars you can get and Assassin was born. It was one of those songs that wrote itself. It felt easy, and that is not always the case. 

When it came time to produce the record we had a roadmap in our heads of how we wanted the sonics to come across. Weve been practicing getting a song written in entirety before adding any production elements. Its like our ultimate test to see if the song is good or not if it can it hold up being playing with just an acoustic guitar then we know it"s a good song.

21 has been one of the best years of my life. after turning 22 last month and just now hitting 1 year of being in web3, it only makes sense for me to drop this version of the song NOW rather than later.

in august 2021, i moved out of my house in the valley and into a studio apartment in Hollywood that i shared with my brother. rent was twice as expensive, and i was honestly scrambling to get by.
in september, i turned 21 and was initially just feeling very scared of getting older. in october, my dear friend Bruno Neves came over one day and introduced me to web3. it took me a sec to really get it, but at some point, something clicked and i IMMEDIATELY dove into the space - ask anyone, i was everywhere haha

i've made friends with people that will stick with me the rest of my life, traveled more than ever before, played venues i've always dreamed of playing, and honestly just made the best music of my life. this really is just the beginning. thank you everyone who has supported me this far. i know i say it often, but i fr can't wait to keep going. hope you dig this lil tune <3
