For most Christmas used to be a day of joy, now in the year of 2099 it is banned and outlawed to celebrate.

As I sit here alone hiding out from the "Chaos" Government I think back to the days where we used to get together and celebrate the holidays.

The days when we would all come together and just have some good old fun.

Those were the days, the days you spent with your loved ones playing board games, watching old videos, laughing and being joyful.

Now in the year of 2099 most people are gone or dead, those memories are a long distant past we tell our kids like urban legends.

One day I hope to bring back those days when the new Government is toppled and we can bring back some of that warmth & goodness.

That feeling of "being human..."

In what feels like a dissonant world right now, each of us needs to create our own "pockets of peace" not only for ourselves, but for those we love.

I am reminded of the many challenging moments in my own life when I questioned my own existence  the tragedies and travails that shake one to the core  and through these experiences, I am grateful to have had friends around me who cared enough to listen.

Difficult times are always portals to better times  opportunities to lean into the discomfort of the moment with the knowledge and wisdom that each challenge carries with it new life, strength, adventure and resilience.

Look for moments each day when you can open your ears and your heart to your friends and, paraphrasing W.B. Yeats, to the friends you have not yet met.
