Lila Ik is an amazing young reggae singer/songwriter making waves in the music scene here in Jamaica. We actually went to high school at the same time and seeing her grow into this fantastic artist isnt a surprise but its so lovely to see. I made this piece in honor of a fantastic performance she gave recently.

Lila Ik

This piece celebrates the vibrant colors brought about by the ultra hard light here in Curaao. The sunlight is very intense due to the proximity of the island to the equator. This has inspired many of my color choices as an artist and has formed the palette I use in my artwork along the years. The combination of colors found around me is often abrupt and shocking rather than harmonious or subtle.

Eight Lines I

This piece depicts a male figure being abducted by an alien ship with the added Jamaican exclamation of BOMBOCLAAT to show his bewilderment at the situation.
