I"m a French professional photographer living in the Westfjords of Iceland, the most remote region of the country. During the last 10 years, I"ve been involved in scientific studies conducted by the Nature institute of Iceland and have extensively documented the harsh life of the Arctic fox (Vulpes lagopus) in Iceland.  

"Surviving" is a portrait of a blue morph Arctic fox taken in July 2021. The strength of the fox"s gaze emphasizes the animal"s determination and the resilience needed to survive in such a harsh environment. 

All proceeds of this open edition will be added to the fund I created to publish a book about Arctic foxes and help spreading awareness about their conservation.

Title: Procession  
  
  
Story/Concept: A sizable floating piece of ice, probably more than one thousand years-old, is separated from the glacier it was part of, slowly initiating its travel towards the sea, through the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon in Iceland.

Along the way, its shape is constantly molded while it melts, part of a rhythmic procession with thousands of other ice pieces, leaving bystanders in awe with both the beauty and shock of this dance.

This is a place that was not supposed to be, so we pay witness with due respect. Each fraction of a second that is  visually memorized in this location captures a unique array of transient sculptures, an extremely poignant reminder of both the impermanence of things and the need to act quickly and responsibly.

What is the Freedom and Sovereignty series?

This series is composed of images that were selected, curated and minted previously on the 1stDibs NFT platform. 1stDibs is an online premium marketplace for traditional art and luxury goods, which was also running a curated NFT platform for over one year. To the surprise of most of its NFT artists, the NFT platform got suddenly shut down, in my case soon after my drop. This was totally unexpected, especially when considering all the effort put by the curatorial team for my drop, with a feature on their home page.   

But artists are used to obstacles and passion leads to perseverance, so this felt like the right moment to mint these images as **Limited Editions** through Manifold, liberating each one of them to the world, allowing them to breathe and circulate, expanding the reach of their message, establishing art self-sovereignty and freedom to transact, true pillars of the NFT and CryptoArt space.

-Single exposure photography, full frame camera, wide angle lens, tripod, manual focus  
  
-Thick neoprene waders to endure the freezing cold water up to the thigh. 

-Perseverance, dedication (and frustration) to be able to properly frame the constantly moving ice pieces to create immersive compositions under the best light conditions. 

-Multiple visits to the same spot over 10 trips along 10 years since 2014. Each photo session lasting several hours. This image was captured in July 2021, during the Icelandic Midnight Sun

The year is 2022or is it? Positano on 35mm film feels like you traveled through time to an era of nostalgia. Transport yourself to this Italian paradise along The Amalfi Coast. Youve arrived at the iconic beach, Spiaggia Grande, where you rent a sun bed and sip on a Limoncello Spritz, while you admire the beauty of Positano around you. It doesnt get any better than this!

What do you see?  
Do you see stars, nebulae, and galaxies? 
Maybe you see astronauts, aliens, and angels?  
Or maybe when you carefully study the depths of this image, can you find them all?

Creating this image required the collection of photons that have traveled toward our earth for 160,000 years. This image was shot with a widefield to be able to include the many beautiful nebulae located deep within our galactic neighbor. This next-door neighbor is a companion, or in other words a satellite galaxy, of our own Milky Way Galaxy.

The Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC), is called a "cloud, even though it is actually a dwarf galaxy orbiting the Milky Way. In the Southern Hemisphere, it is visible to the naked eye. And, with the benefit of modern art and science, we can see so much more detail. The infinity of space, combined with our human imagination, brings us true Cosmic Angels.

LMC is the second or third closest galaxy (160,000 light-years) to the Milky Way after the Sagittarius Dwarf Spheroidal (70,000 light-years) and the possible dwarf irregular galaxy known as the Canis Major Overdensity.

Capturing this image took 47 hours and 20 minutes and it was shot using a remote access 106 mm refractory telescope located in dark skies of Australia. Three different filters and a monochrome CCD sensor/camera were used to create SHO also known as the Hubble Palette image. These filters capture different wavelengths of light from emissions from different elements: H stands for Hydrogen, S for Sulfur, and O for Oxygen. With these 3 different filters, the object is shot and every individual filter data is calibrated and stacked and 3 master mono images are created. These three mono master files are assigned to Red Green and Blue channels to create an RGB aka color image.

Once there was the RGB color image, a rigorous post-process starts where lots of scientific and artistic steps were taken to have the finished image. Pre and post-processing took several hours.

When the forces of nature clash head on, the transfer of energy can be palpable.  
The stirred ocean moves with so much underlying power that when it hits the submerged granite reefs off the east coast of Australia, some spectacular displays of abstract art are formed. With deep chasms, rippling colours and explosions of froth as waves implode in on themselves and the rebounding energy off solid rock tries to escape in any chaotic direction it can. Putting my drone and myself into these places during big swells is a massive rush and this image is a stern reminder of how unpredictable these conditions can be.

Sometimes a photograph looks more like a painting with the light, colors, and shadows in the image. One of my favorite things about photography is creating images that have more of a "painting" feel to them. I love to do this with abstract and macro images, and sometimes an entire scene can be captured this way. I have taken so many photos over the years at this lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, but on this night, the image had such a surreal and dreamlike feeling - I felt like I was sitting in front of a painting at a museum. I was so lost in this sunset as the world faded around me and I just sat in awe as watched the colors set over the calmest conditions I have ever seen here.

GG and Liz were two government grifters locked up in a mental asylum for their crimes. There, they met SBF, another criminal who had been falsely accused. The asylum was a place of constant chaos and flashing lights that never stopped.

Caroline, another crook, was also there for a different reason. She was trying to free her ex-lover, SBF, from the terminal. But the punk, who had taken control of their minds with his meditating, kept them all under his control. He convinced them that the chaos was their true home, and they should embrace it.  

As the flashing lights continued to blare 24/7, GG and Liz found solace in the punk"s teachings. They no longer desired to escape, content with their new lives. SBF also found peace, knowing that he wasn"t alone in his struggle.

Caroline eventually gave up on her plan and left the asylum, defeated. For GG, Liz, and SBF, the flashing lights and chaos became a source of comfort, and they lived out the rest of their days in the asylum. The punk"s meditating continued to take control of their minds, and they were all content in their newfound peace.

My memories of this place were washed in the colors of sepia. There was a peacefulness to it, a feeling of nostalgia and contentment. It was a place that brought me back to a simpler time, a time before the worries of the world weighed heavy on my shoulders. I closed my eyes and allowed myself to drift away in the sepia-colored memories.
