Life was small in his pond. There were lots of other creatures around and he was always the last to eat because he was tiny. Time went on and he found that he did not grow old or make new ones like the others - he was the only one like him he'd ever seen. One day he noticed a shadow over the pond; everyone was sucked up into some kind of reflective box. Things started to poke all of them, and take some away, never to return. When the soft pieces would come to grab him he snapped to protect himself. This went on for seemingly ages, until one day a soft one came but it didn't try to grab him. Instead it had something that smelled delicious. He cautiously ate the piece given; he had never tasted anything like it and had to have more. Whenever the black, slick hand came with the food he would devour it voraciously. His trust in the slick, black hand grew, even when it pricked him and cut him, he knew he could trust this being that fed him. To his joy he started to get large and his teeth became capable of shredding all in his way. He got bigger and bigger ponds, and larger and more delicious foods till one day he was given a small cube like creature. Thinking he couldn't possibly get full on this he chomped it into his jaws. Out of all the foods he had been given this was one he must have more of! Looking at his master he immediately knew he would be given as much as he could ever desire very soon.
