I found this Christ on the Cross in a flea market. I was impressed by the fact that it was broken, poor quality, made of plastic, not colored, certainly reproduced in large quantities in some factory that had nothing to do with the Christian religion. Is this how one loses faith? Is this how a religion decays?

Do you believe in God? No, I"m an agnostic, I"m too small in this universe to affirm its existence or not, but I"ve always been attracted by religious symbolism. In cognitive psychology one of the most interesting themes is that of religious iconology and its use over the centuries to attract more and more believers. This series aims to reflect the crisis of the religious world against the continuous affirmation of technology on people"s lives. The images in this series are the result of my long and personal photographic research on Christ on the cross. Different places and materials for a religion at risk of decline.
I found this Christ on the Cross in a luxurious old house a few years ago. In the Middle Ages the color gold was used as a background for religious works to give them a value that went beyond the economic context. It is as if in the nineteenth century there had been a devaluation of this phenomenon and the artifacts, reproduced in series, have lost their sacredness, risking oblivion.
