Coming Home is a photo series about continuously returning to the home within ourselves. Every day I photographed this view from my apartment, and it was in the stillness between putting my eye to the camera and clicking the shutter-where I felt most connected to myself.

I shot these photos over the course of 6 years, and this collection is a tribute to the city I always knew to be home. It taught me more about myself, relationships, values, and helped mold me into the person I wanted to become.

New York City is anything but a static place. Its always moving, loud, crowded, and yet, we love it. Our life can be all of those things too. The skyline transforms just as we transform. Yet, despite what happens on the outside, our heartbeat and the heartbeat of the city  remains the same. We may loose ourself in relationships, work, or lifes chaos, but we continuously find our way back home to our core self.

This project is special to me for a number of reasons. But today, there is a deeper nostalgia. For the past year my gut has been calling for a big change to move out west. Just two months ago (September of 2022), I honored my calling and packed my bags to Los Angeles to start a new home. It is like introducing and returning to yourself at the same time.

I hope this collection allows you to reflect on your own life and idea of home.
