My normal work day. I was left on the night shift because I didn't want to be on friendly terms with the head doctor. I didn't go through eight years of school so that I would be forced to smile at someone I didn't like. I was sitting in the resident's room reading medical literature as usual, knowledge I would need when I went to Asia, yes, there were more prospects there. I remembered the last word I read before the orderlies brought this patient in. It was the word "accommodatio". The patient was brought in after being discovered in the subway tunnels, wearing a Victorian dress. The dress was torn numerous times but never stitched. The patient was wearing a hat, the kind one wears on a sunny day. The patient could not remember her name, and she looked at me meaningfully. We shouldn't have deprived her of her hat, she didn't mind, yes, she wanted us to do it for her. Some things are better left unsaid. Some things are better not to know. Many things should remain undiscovered.
