Amore a prima vista

This photo is a view of the Cathedral "Santa Maria della Salute" from the bell tower of "San Marco", the main square of Venice.

This shot is truly special for me as represents the meaning of photography itself. I was lucky to witness one of the most beautiful sunset of my life and yet, I was struck by how the light of the setting sun was reflecting through the main windows of the Cathedral. In the following days, and over the years, I tried to go back to the same place at the exact same hour but I never got to see that beautiful light again. That red sparkle in those small windows was gone.
 
This is exactly what photography is for me. No matter how hard and how many times you try to replicate the same settings. That light, that exact moment, once passed, is lost forever. 
Each photo you take is truly unique, you just need to be there to capture it!
