ABOUT THE ARTWORK:
The black mamba is to be both feared and respected, and legendary lore surrounds its larger-than-life reputation. The snake's name comes not from its color, but from the strikingly dark black interior of its mouth. When opened it serves as a warning  here sits one of nature's most perfectly designed assassins, and one of the deadliest snakes in the world. Thats why the character in Kill Bill was named after it. Eventually, that classic scene would inspire the alter ego that became legend.

Black mambas are the fastest snakes on earth - and the largest serpent on the continent of Africa. Because of their incredible size and speed, they have very few if any natural predators. They spend most of their waking hours hunting for their own food to eat. With excellent vision and calculated patience, they track and stalk prey on land and water with fatal precision.

Everything about its lethality, aggression, and disposition matches perfectly with the tenacity Kobe brought to the game. A stone-cold assassin lurking on the hardwood. Everyone was food. No natural predators.

His obsession with excellence embodies the qualities of the snake. Movement and intelligence. Instinct and precision. An assassin. So I wanted these pieces to embody that  literally within his body -- and serve as a metaphor for how to attack life. Hunt success. Stalk wins. Eat opportunities. Kill goals and track responsibilities. Prey on the opposition. Adapt to different ground beneath your feet. Be patient. Strike fast. Spread venom. No excuses. Mamba mentality.
