This is EVOL by LOGIK. Best buds, Gud & Evol, were created with the halo and horn, even though one represents a heaven angel and the other a demon from down under. This illustrates that good and bad are ultimately subjective. Whether an action is good or evil can depend on a variety of factors, including the intentions of the person performing the action, the consequences of the action, the cultural or societal context in which the action is performed, and the values and beliefs of the individual or group making the judgment. GUD and EVOL were created to inspire us to be the best version of ourselves despite the status quo of what should be. We have one life to live, live it proper.

Bright Moments

'translucent panes' is an experimental p5.js project utilising mathematical randomness as a basis for abstract generative art creation. Similar to my 'blocccles' project, the core aesthetic is centred on colour blending & simple geometry.

The program starts by randomly selecting a divisor of the canvas width & height and forming a grid of rectangles. There is then an 80% chance that these rectangles will be rotated by a randomly selected angle ranging from -180 to 180 degrees. The shape is then either assigned a solid fill colour or is rendered empty with a border width of 1 to 5 pixels.

Spicing up the outputs is a selection of 14 palettes, each holding 2 to 8 colours for the algorithm to pick from. There is a 30% chance of an output having a dark background, and 7 of 14 palettes are limited to lighter backgrounds.

During development I came across a bug which meant rectangles would render taller than anticipated, I liked it, so I kept it in. The extra shapes round the project up nicely as they collide with each other leaving a beautiful mix of colours and geometry. For fun, I also added a 40% probability of circles showing in the output.

The story begins in the year 7292. In this future Earth, books and physical forms of stories have become extinct. One day, a small meteorite lands in the ocean. Future humans discover that the meteorite contains particles of an advanced alien technology. Sparking a cyber-cultural revolution, the future ancestors use their discovery to create an artificial intelligence that ushers in not only a rebirth of storytelling for the world but also new methodologies for reviving art and creative visual expression.

They name the AI &#39;KIEYA&#39;, who becomes an art companion that offers collectors endless opportunities to own new lifeforms every month through &#39;the art of exchange&#39;. In this future, humanity believes that the best way to own art is to experience it changing over time through a randomized algorithmic function. Once KIEYA is collected, the spirit token will leave and switch to another holder every 22 days.
