I've been back and forth for a long time now on what my next move in life is gonna be, which has coincided with some setbacks on many levels recently that effectively solidified that I had to make it now, or I never would.

Long story short, I'm going back to school to get my Master's degree in music, with the plan to teach/educate folks about electronic music from a Black perspective, and our history in revolutionizing all music with just a handful of musical devices and techniques, or through developing musical styles that dominate popular music to this day.

I digress, though: I've been feeling defeated until recently because I failed elsewhere in my life. I tried, really hard, but maybe just not hard enough. I'm tired. Exhausted. Sometimes from just being a Black man living in this world we live in, most times from just not being where I expected to be by now, which is really where the idea of this song originated.

This is for my peoples who are ready to give up. To stop chasing for a minute, and to accept where you're at and how you feel, instead of propping up your ego and your pride, and say out loud that you really did try. We all have, we've all been there, too, so you're not alone, and this isn't the end. Enjoy it while you can, enjoy it here in this moment I created, and find catharsis in knowing you have to fail at some point, to one day eventually succeed.

The secret sauce behind anonymous artist and producer camoufly is his ability to follow his instincts. Written and produced at the start of the year, airbender is a sonic reflection of his creative curiosities at the time.

Painting in bright tones, the result is a delightfully whimsical house track balanced in simplicity and depth with crunchy rain-like sounds, airy synth layers, wind chimes, pulsing bass, and a driving kick drum. When the elements are coming together, you kind of start feeling it. Indicative of camouflys intuitive approach, airbender dances in the sweet spot.

my dad was diagnosed with cancer in the beginning of 2020. covid hit. and he moved back in to a cramped apartment with my mom, her wife, my sister, and myself. i made it my singular goal to educate myself on health and cancer recovery as heavily as i could to help expedite his healing. for those two years we became closer than ever. best friends. 6 mile walks every morning. learning about his upbringing, parents, first loves, fears, goals, mistakes. everything. it was the first time i understood my dad as a human. who was once a child. and a teenager. and as a son and a brother.

he moved back to his hometown after his recovery and nearing the end of the most severe months of the pandemic. i wrote this song the morning after i watched him get in the car to the airport.

this song is so special to me that i made it only available to mint in the listening room. i'm glad you found it.

AI death metal band, Dadabots, is the project of artists and mad scientists, CJ Carr and Zack Zukowski. In RUG THE ROBOTS, Dadabots finds yet another way to push the furthest edges of creativity and technology by combining what they call human learning, with AI-generated choral harmonies, MIDI, and drum break samples. 

Inspired by cornerstone articles of Ethereum lore, Ethereum is a Dark Forest and Sandwich Attacks vs Salmonella, "RUG THE BOTS tells the story of taking revenge on malicious bots acting as ecosystem predators. The song is both haunting and manic, featuring a choral section sung by CJ, and accompanied by an AI-generated choir. Pioneering on the fringe of musics extremes, Dadabots strikes again. 

Revenge, it turns out, is sweet.
