Possibility Spaces are huge artworks created in an emergent series of calls and responses between artist and AI.

This work seeks to position itself within the surrealist tradition, which has always sought to unlock the power of the unconscious mind to reveal hidden truths about being human. The mind's eye reaches for its own meaning so that perceiving the art is an act of creation. In keeping with the surrealist tradition, Possibility Spaces expresses the idea of welcoming imperfection, embracing glitch as beautiful.

The English language is made up of twenty-six little letters, but there's no limit to the number of possible poems that can be written. Creativity lies in synthesis into creations new, and never imagined.

Art Galleries (Revisited) is the twenty-third realm in Possibility Spaces and is a strange and more minimalistic realm. Populated by people seated on geometric objects in empty space; just waiting; but in a gallery.

Art Blocks x Bright Moments

*923 Empty Rooms* is an artwork about simulation and the history of visual representation and abstraction. Each room is a space to explore.

Each of the 923 unique rooms contains a simulated still life, an arrangement of forms. There are six primary forms, each linked to a city: Sun (Tokyo), Shard (Berlin), Cargo (London), Hive (New York), Pyramid (CDMX), and Moon (Los Angeles). A series of rooms will be minted over the course of a simultaneous, six-day exhibition at galleries in each city.

There are 923 rooms in total to iterate through every possible combination of the six shapes:

1 form = 6 unique combinations
2 forms = 21 unique combinations
3 forms = 56 unique combinations
4 forms = 126 unique combinations
5 forms = 252 unique combinations
6 forms = 462 unique combinations

*Color Streams* is a return to my origins both personally and creatively. Simple gradients across color fields with the generative paint texture I love so much. These outputs remind me of simpler times and give me hope for our collective future.

Nicole Vellas artwork Text Me When You Get Home explores human connection; what it means to connect with people and have those connections change. Over time, our thoughts and beliefs grow, causing the dynamics of our interpersonal relationships to shift. While these transitions happen, residual elements of ourselves are left clinging to one another with either hope or regret, as we grow together or grow apart.

Each piece centers on two complex forms connected with unique structures, some thin and tenuous, some thick and substantial. The highly detailed crystalline bodies appear glassine and solid yet are fused by fragile strings of malleable and stretched material. A duality which echoes the complexity of human relationships and the delicacy between opposing thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

Text Me When You Get Home is coded in GLSL within a single fragment shader. Each pixel reacts to the mathematics and logic within the shader software, exhibiting similar crystal properties to glass sculptures by the likes of Jack Storms. In this way Vella works as a painter using code as paint, programming a system to carefully color every point on the canvas.

Resonances" is a raw representation of the artist"s journey of life-shattering experiences and subsequent reconstruction. It encapsulates the chaotic and disruptive effects of emerging technology, the global anxiety induced by the pandemic, and the information overflow from the volatile crypto art market. Still, the work also builds on a profound interconnectedness with peers, environment, technology, art, and humanity. The creation process echoes this sense of connection, as this work was born of a collaborative effort with twelve artists.

The emergent shapes are cut from intersecting circles, breaking their uniformity. As a metaphor to humanity, each shape begins with its own unique color, yet after intersecting and colliding, that color fragments and reduces or becomes even more vibrant. The interference patterns remind one of raindrops on waters surface, movement in stillness.
