At the beginning of the 1990s, with the fall of the socialist bloc, difficult times were experienced in Cuba, tinged with deep shortages and prolonged power outages. The so-called SPECIAL PERIOD could not break our culture. The show had to go on and it did. From among the chords of a never-forgotten bolero, come this tribute to those dancers with feet and hearts of steel, those who adorned our faults with sones, rumba and guaguanc.

Sometimes they appear difficult situations that they want to tear you down, feeling naked, and with nothing that you can do, you fall. Remembering everything that you have lived, and you wake up with another attitude to continue living. Naked

Bare

In an instant captured between the invisible notes of the music, an image is revealed that transcends words and plunges into the soul of dance. There, in a corner of staged silence, stands a dancer, an ethereal echo of grace and tenacity.

Bad weather

Bad times never seem like it.  
Bad times are like sudden and stubborn rain. Repeated.

They don't usually advertise  
They catch us by surprise against the foot, or perhaps against the grain.  
They are like taxes  
are paid.

Hidden

Vibrant colors on the skin,  
a model in her serenity,  
hands folded to the faithful face,  
expression that invites to explore the emotionality.

What do you feel when looking at her like that?  
in that photo of deep reflection?  
What emotions come to you,  
when you immerse yourself in introspection of it?

Maybe the joy of life,  
or maybe the sadness of loneliness,  
perhaps the excessive passion,  
Or maybe the calm in the storm.

feeling the energy that runs in me, receiving the sun's rays, my body moves by itself, I feel my foot stretching, my hands seek balance next to my body, dance lives in me

Sometimes when you can't distinguish your environment and the outside overwhelms you, you need to be blinded. To look at the void and forget that you feel like an outsider in your own orb, without direction and in the hands of chance

I'm not clear.  
 Clarity is for the lucid and luminous beings.  For the brave we are only cowards;  swamp insects splashing in the dark, suffocated by doubts and resurfacing in the shadows.  Searching through the filth for that light that never comes, that has always been there, on the other side of the blindfold, but we refuse to open our eyes for fear of disturbing reality or clarity.
