February 7th, November 7th... 9 months to the date from the first iteration of what Wakanomy was, to what Wakanomy is. I feel weve ascended on so many levels during this time. So many lessons learned, some the easy way, some the hard. The anticipation of giving birth to a new Wakanomy had my anxiety through the roof, but my anxiety turned into pure excitement of the unknown when I looked around and saw my Wakanomy family right there with me in the waiting room. Wakanomy Is A Process and we trust the process. Holders of Waiting Room In Space will have access to a token gated group AMA, by yours truly. I will share my experiences, what Ive learned and what I've been through while building in web3. Ill also answer any questions asked, doesnt have to be topic specific. Save Yourself

Save Yourself was one of two songs on this album that I wrote from a very real place of fear. At a time where I believed that I'd lost faith, and was ashamed of doing so, I felt it was something to be earned back. 

In retrospect, the sheer belief in myself having the power to right my wrongs and redirect my path was maybe the biggest show of faith I could have displayed at the time. 

God has given us everything we need.

10% of the proceeds for this collection will go towards funding web3 education and community building efforts in Virginia.

In 2017, I had a thought, patterns prevail. It was derivative of a quote from my best friend and frequent collaborator, Sky Welkin, which read passion prevails. Sky is a talented cartoonist that embeds profound messages like this throughout his work.

During our college years, hed often come by and draw while I made beats, this was our ghetto co-working era, and in these sessions wed smoke, engage in discourse, and share ideas about the respective worlds we were building in our art. In fact, I was very much into doing something new each album, but Sky was the primary influence for me to get into world-building and having a particular sense of style that was cultivated over time.

In one of my college apartments, I decided that to let Sky use all of the walls in my room as a canvas - the few hundred dollars that Id spend to have the room repainted when I moved was minuscule compared to the living art piece around me. Every so often I would discover some new character scene or phrase that hed drawn without me noticing, but one of these phrases was placed in such a way that I couldnt miss it as soon as I woke up, passion prevails.

Web3 has offered much in the form of expansion for the experiential qualities and monetization of my art. We always say things like, time passes quickly in web3.

As much as I agree, I find it interesting that time also seems to stay still - art is appreciated for its beauty regardless of age and with the possibilities available to me with NFTs, something like my debut album, can no experience a new form of appreciation.

As I begin to release works from the PAISLEY collection over time, it was only fitting that I began with the short film.

When I was working on the album, I connected with my friend and collaborator, Dawit N.M. to share the pattern theories I was creating from and what I was aesthetically into at the time. Dawit went on to handle the art direction for the album, as well as bringing my convoluted story concept to life as a film.

The story of PAISLEY exists in a universe in which we've all been made to forget true selves. Though, there are those of us that break free and reawaken, remembering all the knowledge of self that was once lost. A human that knows who they are can no longer be controlled and is thus a threat to those in power.

This is the case for our protagonists Figaro and Paisley. The pair, bound by fate, seek each other out in parallel universes with the hope to awaken their companion and continue their journey towards freedom. Our short film finds Figaro, moments after being awakened by Paisley, and follows them towards their attempted escape.

The PAISLEY album and short film are an allegory for patterns at every level of life. Just as cells make up organisms and organisms make up the planets, and the planets the universe, and so on - patterns, appear, reshape, and reappear until their purpose in your life is realized. In my album I explore the different patterns in my relationships and my relationships as patterns, that were required for me to grow individually.

This year marks the 3 year anniversary of the PAISLEY collection, with the short film has only been screened at live performances and intimate talks. Now it will all be immortalized on the blockchain.

'nobody loves you' explores the themes of isolation and loneliness, as well as a personal struggle with mental illness. This record was written after a string of tragic deaths of peers in the music industry, as well as the loss of a family member. 'nobody loves you' delves into the idea that we often wait until it's too late to really show our love, appreciation and respect for each other. 

It was written by Sara Phillips, and produced with Mike Daley and Mitchell Owens. 

10% of all primary sales of this record will be donated to the The Trevor Project - focused on suicide prevention and providing 24/7 crisis support services to LGBTQ young people. Thank you so much for helping this incredibly important cause.

Love Again

Imagine you could go back and tell your 17-year-old self Im good enough as I am. Imagine what couldve been one of lifes biggest failures turning into triumph.

Many moons ago as a senior in high school I was given the task of completing an exit project, where I would research poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning and one of her works and write about it. My English teacher was very vague with instructions and it left me feeling lost. So I procrastinated. Why? I started reading at a year and a half, I went to gifted and talented schools my whole life, why was this challenging? The me of today (post a late stage ADHD, Anxiety disorder diagnosis) would reach out for clarity and understanding of expectations.

But the me then who knew more than I gave her credit for, turned to music. The one constant, the one bit of clarity even when nothing else fell into place. I thought I knew the person Id love forever and while that is not true- I did know then how profound, forgiving, patient and other worldly love was and still is. 

So I wrote Love Again but never turned in my project OR the song. I just knew it wasnt good enough. I Technically flunked high school. As a result I had to do a semesters worth of English projects in one week to graduate on time. And did.

This recording was created 2years later @ 19 years old. The first song I ever wrote recorded, vocal produced, and co produced with my brother B. Sharpe. I was good enough then. And Im good enough now.

It takes tremendous shadow work, to reach back into the past, and soothe the pain of a younger self. That is the point of life. That is the point of love.

I think as artists we are much better manifestors than we like to admit. Often times we will subconsciously seek out situations that are detrimental to us, just so we can feel. Even when others mishandle us, we actively welcome it, almost to invite a catalyst for the transformation we so desperately seek.

Writing this song taught me what I was capable of and what happens when I let life happen to me vs when I become an active participant in my own story.  

I"m grateful to share this with a mended heart and renewed purpose. 

I"m using a song that represents a dark period in my life to bring light to a fellow artist who is routinely a light in my life. 15% of the sale will go to Miles Ryan Harris to help with ongoing legal fees as he navigates being the best father he can be to his two boys.

Committed is definitely top 5 best songs I ever made, in my humble opinion. 

The original version of this was produced by my friend Tyler Donavan, it contained the hand percussion and bell sample and lived on my 2013 mixtape "Concerto Grosso" released under the name Cello Figaro.

I really felt like this was/is a hit record and so when PAISLEY came around I reproduced it adding every synth I could find, piano, bass, etc. My two favorite albums at the moment were Currents by Tame Impala and Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight by Travis Scott....obviously.

I Got Time Today

I"m Tyler. I go by Mozado, but you can call me Zado if that"s easier. I"m a diy artist out of Boston. My introduction to music was in 4th grade when I started playing sax in the school band. I ended up playing all the way throughout college, but senior year of high school I came across FL Studio for the first time. From then on my goal was to be an EDM producer prodigy like my idols Avicii, Zedd, Porter Robinson, and Madeon. I honestly got pretty close when a bootleg remix of a Chainsmokers song got reposted by the duo themselves on Soundcloud and amassed over 300k plays in a few hours before Sony Records PROMPTLY took it down. I was sick to my stomach not gonna lie.

A couple years later I was in an original song contest and got to attend EDC Las Vegas. It was an amazing experience but bittersweet because I realized that maybe EDM wasn"t what I loved most. So after that I rebranded to Mozado and started secretly practicing my singing and rapping. Eventually in 2018 I released Hellacopters, the first song I not only produced, but sang and rapped on too. And just like that, I was a real life recording artist. All my music is still produced, mixed, and mastered by me in my basement, Bomb Shelter Studio (literally a bunker room in the house I live in). 

I pride myself on my versatility and I"m pretty sure I"m dope but the music industry is humbling as hell for upcoming artists. Sound.xyz will be seeing the full scope of that versatility. For example this drop is a very different vibe than the rock and hip-hop sounds of my debut album Girls Run The Internet. Being in Boston means cold winters and I often make beachy summer songs as a coping mechanism lol. That"s what this song is.
