During the pandemic - everything as we know came to a halt.
Businesses closed down...we suffered.

I went on Worldstar one day and saw a video of a news report saying that sex workers were thriving, an all time high...that moment I started daydreaming thinking what would really drive someone to seek this out during the pandemic and possibly become addicted, fall in love.. "That sparked the first line "But when you"re paid good for it, take ya" soul by force.." the rest was history.

Since I"ve been out of the loop for a lil bit, figured i"d come back with at least a gift.

this is my song hall pass. i wrote this because I wanted to capture the feeling of self-sabotage. ive always had this fear that when something is going too well im just waiting for it to fall apart. its almost a form of protection and being okay with someone leaving before you get hurt, which is why i loved the title hall pass, its giving someone an out.

the process of making this song was very natural, it started with a poem i read about fear and how it manifests in different ways. after reading that poem, the lyrics and melodies started to flow, and it all came together quite naturally :)

 this is a special one, i hope it resonates with you all in some way !

Listen!


You love to talk, but you dont listen. This is one of the tracks that early on started to shape the upcoming, now completed project.  I was looking for a bridge between hip hop and live instrumentation, and also reggae?, and also Beatles-inspired grooves, and also something lighthearted that you could dance to.  Listen was the result.  I think music is a melting pot more than ever and I hope when people listen to my music they can references dozens of influences because thats essentially how these songs are made.  But at the end of the day, the song feels like me.  If it didnt, we wouldnt be here releasing it. 

Listen is track 4 off the new project, which I havent officially announced to the public.  But it is coming in December.  The project is a journey, almost feels like a road trip, reminiscent of a kerouac novel - but tinted by the strange, modern, polluted times we are in now.   

I remember playing this record after previewing Young Fel 2 to my label at the time.  We had just finished playing a lot of the darker records off of YF2 and some of the label heads had stepped out to take calls, and finish their business.  I continued playing unreleased records of mine and Listen was the first one I played after the album.  It lit up the room.  It felt like the light at the end of the tunnel and I remember my friend Clay (who did the artwork for this nft as well as all the upcoming ones), giving me this look ofshit, well when is that one dropping?  It didnt fit on Young Fel 2 but I knew itd find its place.  To me, its home is on this upcoming project.  Hope you all enjoy and thank you for listening and supporting.

Continuing to build on Dashs current momentum, save yourself first is an energetic take on letting things go to save whats left. Written as a musical representation of a train-wreck, the eagerly anticipated track has been a fan-favorite of hardcore Dash fans for months now. After receiving tens of thousands of views across TikTok snippets and IG Live, the track will serve as the second single on upcoming EP, Bandolier  slated for early 2023 release.

Son of a Gun

Son of a Gun.  One of my favorites off the upcoming album.  Something that feels like it has centuries of history behind it.  It was supposed to be the intro, then the outro, then found itself at track 10.  This song is probably the most New England//CT thing Ive made.   I was scared of it for a while because of this reasons - it"s out there. It has a lot of Christian Felner (my real name) in it.  Felly takes a seat for this one.  But it has this dark tone to it that I think is sacred and true to me. It feels like a horse.  You ever look into a horses eyes?  Feels like you can see hundreds of years in there.  I dont think many people understand this song and I always look at people after playing it and just sitting with the fact that, from where I stand, it seems it went right over their head. The song is sort of about only being here for a period of time. The fragility of life, and how we"re all alone.  And that feeling you can reach in life where there is no place to actually call home.  Being cast into the world alonepretty much.  It comes from touring, from meeting so many strangers, and ultimately feeling like its still just me.  If you get this one you get it and if you dont that"s alright with me.
