In recent weeks, we have sadly seen multiple mass shootings across the country here in the US that has taken the lives of many innocent individuals. One of these shootings has hit very close to where I called home for the past six years of my life in Colorado. I have designed the piece Rise to not only bring awareness to the overwhelming amount of gun violence happening across the country and around the world but also to raise money for the families who were affected by the Boulder Massacre this past week. All proceeds raised from the purchases of Rise will be donated to the Colorados Healing Fund. 

Every little detail within this piece represents something. The mountains pictured happen to be the very first mountains I hiked when I arrived in Colorado and they are the breathtaking view in which Boulder is nestled just below. The moth rising behind the mountains is a representation of the lost loved ones passing into their afterlife. The flowers are all local flowers you see growing throughout the spring and summer and the butterfly fluttering is a reminder that although these individuals may no longer physically be here with us, they are still here in spirit.
