The artwork was designed by Keiken to reflect Daatas mission to support artists and foster critical discourse within the NFT space. An ancient silver coin, embossed with two winged horses, spins in an eternal revolution. At its core, the Daata d sits amongst a kaleidoscope of precious jewels. Despite such luxurious materials, the NFT does not celebrate material wealth. In Greek mythology, the winged horse Pegasus represented heroic victory. The metals oxidised patina similarly infers wisdom and experience. More than a symbol, this is a work of art that reflects who we are and where were going - join us.

Ethereum Mining Commemorative Coin

Ethereum Mining Commemorative Coin (2022) is an issuance of a virtual commemorative coin that memorialises the mining that contributed to the network between 2015 and 2022   to be halted forever, after the Merge. A Ghibli-style short animation by animator Simon Mine introduces the coin as it floats across a desert landscape, recalling the initial branding of the Frontier release in 2015. Through a globe network illustrated in the style of the Ethereum Homestead release graphics, a miner bought off ebay is retired forever and morphs into the commemorative coin. The reverse of the coin reveals an animated version of CNATCH & Hsiao-Wei Wangs Panda merge meme, compiling several key moments in Ethereum visuals. The soundtrack is from Amnesia Scanners Scammer project, a classic music NFT series launching open source royalty-free snippets on the Ethereum network in 2021. Everything,everywhereisalwaysmoving,forever  but history is not forgotten.

Feel Good Spins

Killing Days Feel is one of the 250 original triptychs that comprise the feel good spins for feel bad times generative collection by contemporary pop artist Deborah Kass.

The algorithm that generated this triptych was designed as a slot machine. Each participanta gambler of sortswas invited to place their coin into the machine and take a spin in order to reconfigure Kass' text and imagesin her signature bright colors and bold typefacesas novel triptychs. 

Collectors are encouraged to explore each work in both physical and digital environments. Owners may create physical prints of their digital triptychs for personal use.

Some questions that are always at the forefront of my art practice: how do my images relate to the images that precede and surround them; what expectations are we bringing to images, and how are these expectations established and reinforced; what purpose do these expectations serve and how can we interact with these expectations?

AI image generators are a fascinating new tool for exploring these questions because they create images based upon a dataset of hundreds of millions of preexisting imagery but are otherwise unfettered by the preexisting expectations of visual culture. That is, they make new images based on predictions from all the images (and image tags) that precede them. However, they are not otherwise bound by human logic or cultural codes and therefore make images that reflect these codes in surprising and often challenging ways, like a funhouse mirror. There is a beautiful collapse of category distinctions and a dynamic interplay between un-indoctrinated naivety and an appreciation of precedent.

CATEDRALES DE BUENOS AIRES

In Catedrales de Buenos Aires"  Layla Pizarro explores photography and creative coding. Specifically, she employs the slit-scan effect, a technique with a rich history in both photography and film. In this project, she captures moments from her daily life in Buenos Aires, freezing a silent second in the noisy city dynamics.
What makes her work unique is the integration of creative code, which allows her to reinterpret and manipulate the captured moments. Through the slit-scan effect with the use of creative code, she transforms the rhythm of the city, giving rise to an imaginary architecture and a novel cityscape. Going beyond traditional photography, using p5js, Photoshop / Lightroom and artistic expression, she crafts a new, entangled perspective on the urban experience.

Painting with Fire presents a vignette of transformation: the evolution of GANs from 2014 - 2023 seen through the eyes of fire. Using 14 vintage GAN models, Ionson articulates the emergence of synthetic image generation. Ionson explores fire as the quintessence of humanity's relationship to both innovation and destruction, embracing the unexpected abstractions of classic AI as a distinctive aesthetic statement.

GAN (generative adversarial network) technologies were developed by researchers and programmers but then utilized by artists. Though the technology was invented to make the images as realistic as possible, Brd subverts this to use it chaotically and abstractly; the opposite of what the AI researchers had in mind. This project celebrates the innovators and artists who have brought synthetic image generation to life with models such as the aiCAN, DCGAN, Stylegan 1, 2 & 3, bigGan, biGAN, pix2pix, AttnGan and more.

Fire and technology changes us. We are the product of fire and Ai will also change us.
Channeling the fire myths of the world, Prometheus, the Phoenix, the gods of the sun and flame. A story of technology brought to humans; to myths of destruction and rebirth. To be immortal; to be a god; it is always a paradox of fire and technology. The morality of the fire is always in question but we desire it and fear it. And yet it has changed us, we have learned so much since we first touched fire. We used it to destroy the wood, smelt the metal and build the chip. And now we teach and show the fire what we know; what we create and our reflection is there telling us our faults. The GAN is but a single neuron in a blazing star; a greater fire is coming.

By early 2015, neural networks had mastered the art of 'image-to-text' and could create natural language captions for images. Flipping this process, and turning text into image, was a much more complex challenge solved by 19-year old prodigy Elman Mansimov's alignDRAW model.


Fellowship is pleased to present a special release of **fully on-chain*** NFTs of this historical artwork, containing all the original 32x32 pixel images created in 2015.

Mythologies

Barry Sutton"s "Mythologies" is an evocative exploration of the human condition, a breathtaking synthetic odyssey that delves into the essence of our collective narratives. The exhibition is an audacious tapestry that weaves the corporeal form with the threads of contemporary iconography, presenting a tableau that is as provocative as it is poetic.

In these images, the body is not merely a subject but a storyteller, each sinew and motion articulating tales of our symbiotic relationship with technology and the trajectory of our species. Sutton"s synthetic lens captures the grace of human movement with a sculptor"s sensitivity, the contours and muscles speaking to the potential and limits of our flesh.

The skateboards, serving as both pedestals and partners to the subjects, symbolize our complex alliance with technology. They are extensions of the human form, vehicles of freedom that also suggest a dependency, mirroring our own dance with the machines that empower and ensnare us.

The monochromatic palette strips away the distractions of color, focusing the viewer"s gaze on form, shadow, and light- the syntax of photography. Sutton"s use of stark contrasts and fluid lines conjures a world that feels both ancient and futuristic, a space where myth becomes indistinguishable from the machine.

"Mythologies" is a profound commentary on the narratives we construct about ourselves and our planet. It questions the stories of dominion and harmony, of progress and destruction. Sutton"s exhibition is not just a showcase of visual splendor but a mirror held up to our society, reflecting our dreams, our hubris, and our humanity.
