I saved the rendering and collected images for the collage work: newspapers and advertisements meant to collect Black people, from running away, to take to prison, to work the land, front page photos, and art for The Kissing Case.

We stand at the nexus of two worlds, a portal into the unknown. Two halfs representing a whole, one half a twin of the other, one represents the real, the other, the virtual. 

Trees also represent for me, conduits to other realms, they too are the nexus between worlds and dimensions, so I often represent them in my virtual work. They become the imaginative bridge between the physical and the virtual. They are the symbolic portals like Yggdrasil the world tree holding the nine worlds: this I think, is a perfect allegorical representation of the Metaverse.

The Occurrence: Part I
Out of the blue of an otherwise perfectly ordinary day, it came careening down from the sky, crashing in a spectacular and seemingly endless cloud of shimmering ash that spread throughout the land, sparing nothing. No one could possibly have known what would ensue. When the dust finally settled, it was onto a world that would be forever transformed. Some say it began on the day that The Child first noticed an almost imperceptible difference in the colors on a snake. But it was still the Before Times, and no one yet understood.

The central theme of GunsRule#02 is the problem of gun violence in the United States, which consistently harms the nation's children. Throughout history, the foundation of the United States has been established and dominated through gun violence. As a result, many lawmakers prioritize profit and money over the well-being of their constituents, particularly those they deem different from themselves, exhibiting little care for the lives of their own citizens, particularly children.

'ANCESTOR_01 is part of a larger project entitled, 'Creature Bizarro.' exploring themes of the survival of African-descended people kidnapped & brought to the usA from the era of enslavement to the present-day acts of oppression. Themes of dehumanization and violence, family unity, and spiritual ties for healing are expressed through vivid imagery, haunting music, and live dancer's motion data captured via motion capture transfer to 3D-modeled characters and objects.

Inner Conquering

For me, this image signifies an awareness of hybrid living, along a spectrum from partially to complete immersion in a virtual or metaverse reality. A cyborg ontology for humans is becoming clearer and clearer, and expanding exponentially from the seemingly innocent days of Web 01 in the early 1990s. Now almost every human on the planet has their reality altered, enhanced, or impacted by digital technologies; as this technology facilitates and intervenes with next level ecosystems of biology, consciousness, and commerce. We see this evolutionary trending in the advent and implementation of Web3, AI, and the Blockchain.

As a Heyoka Empath and Sacred Clown, I see the world through a lens of playfulness and humor. In my artwork, The Alchemical Circus, I sought to convey the importance of consciousness expansion and the transformative power of dissolving paradigms of old for the possibilities of a world of wonder that can only be viewed through an alternate lens. Through the use of vibrant colors and whimsical imagery, I invite the viewer to let go of their preconceptions and embrace the potential for growth and harmony through imagination and quest for virtue. 

At the heart of The Alchemical Circus is the concept of transmutation, the process of transforming something from one form into another. In this case, I am exploring the idea of transmuting density into harmony, of letting go of negative emotions and behaviors in order to elevate our consciousness and move towards a higher vibration.



Alchemical Circus

This work is part of a series inspired by the cuentos and pueblo Indian (Hopi & Zuni) story dances from my youth. As an adult, I can only grasp parts of lengthy narratives so characters are conflated and blurred as is my memory of them. 

Using AI I attempted to describe some of the stories with prompts, then curate the outputs down to one composition that closely aligns with my recollections. The scenes are embellished with drawn lines and artifacts in an attempt to further color the story. The viewer can draw their own conclusions about what tale is unfolding  in that way, I love playing with my memories while others project their own.   


Horse-man, Fire and The Book

MesoMariposa is an exploration of the Toltec and Mexica ancient belief that butterflies are the souls of people who have died. In some stories it was the souls of fallen warriors, who like butterflies and flowers usually lived short lives. In other stories butterflies were souls of women who've died during childbirth, and even those who were sacrificed to the gods in ritual human sacrifices made by some cultures throughout time. The artwork is a mixed media work consisting of 3D sculpture, AI imagine generation, and painted and animated on Procreate. 

MesoMariposas

"Portrait Of A Pimp" is a piece commissioned by a client who want to be portrayed as a pimp. As I got further into the personality of the client, I realized that pimp could be defined as "Positively Influencing Many People". The reality is that we are all typically defined by what we look like on the outside, and not who we are within.

The original painting was 36 x 48 acrylic on canvas.
