Glitches are a perfect metaphor of how memory works, not only organic memory but artificial too; there"s always a loss, a distortion. In genetics, in recalling, in copying a file... there"s always a loss and in this loss the whole creation.

Every Single Memory is Damaged (The Poetics of Loss)

"Micropaintings" is  the product of an intricate exploration of painting processes related to the limitations, attributes and errors of optical devices and image visualization.

The process begins with the application of acrylic paint on a thin sheet of acetate, which is then placed in a Zeiss microscope calibrated to enlarge to 4x and 10x under different lightings.

When an interesting composition is found after meticulous search and observation, it is captured with a digital camera adapted to the microscope. This step is repeated, selecting different framings of the paints topography (in some cases also including prismatic paper, oil paint, mobile device screens or prints).

The photographs are then edited in software designed for RAW files (without compression) and are run through a pixel sorting script in a program called Processing, which outlines the individual pixels of a digital image.

Finally, these images are viewed through a retina display screen and photographed with a 35mm camera. The film is then developed and placed in slides, and the resulting images are projected in a dark room with a Kodak Carousel 4400, creating an interactive installation. This piece was first presented in my solo show "Snooze", which took place in April and may 2018 in Galera Tu Mam, located in Xochimilco, Mexico.

Mites are small arthropods belonging to the class Arachnida and the subclass Acari. Mites are not a clade as they span two different groups of arachnids: the Acariformes are sister to the camel spiders, while the Parasitiformes are sister to the false scorpions; also, they exclude the ticks, order Ixodida, although ticks and mites are closely related. Mites are distantly related to spiders and scorpions.

The body is in two sections, the cephalothorax or prosoma (there is no separate head), and an opisthosoma. The scientific discipline devoted to the study of ticks and mites is called acarology.

Most mites are tiny, less than 1 mm (0.04 in) in length, and have a simple, unsegmented body plan. Their small size makes them easily overlooked; some species live in water, many live in soil as decomposers, others live on plants, sometimes creating galls, while others again are predators or parasites. This last type includes the commercially important Varroa parasite of honey bees, as well as the scabies mite of humans. Most species are harmless to humans but a few are associated with allergies or may transmit diseases.
