The Adaptive: The 5000

In May 2021, the digital artist known as Duncan Blaise set out to create and launch a work of art that incorporates the works of 5000 of the greatest artists on the planet.

The Adaptive will incorporate 5000 (one-of-one) original art pieces from both established and up-and-coming artists into "The Adaptive".

Each Adaptive token entitles the artist to submit an original (one-of-one) creation where the pixels equate to the token edition number within the Adaptive.

"The Adaptive" will give established and up-and-coming artists the opportunity to record their work in The Adaptive.

The Adaptive will record the thoughts and feelings of an entire generation. Your work is preserved for prosperity. 

"The Adaptive" will then be sold at auction.

"The Adaptive" will launch with an associated auction through Maritime Vintage.  Each Artist that has an Adaptive Token and submits a piece of art to be included in "The Adaptive" will be eligible to participate in the auction.

Each artist will be limited to one submission to the adaptive.

The Lady of Shalott' is one of Alfred Lord Tennyson's most famous poems. Its setting is medieval, during the days of King Arthur. Near Camelot is the Island of Shalott, where a beautiful young maiden is imprisoned. She, the Lady of Shalott, must not look at Camelot but can only see what is reflected in a mirror as she works on weaving a magical web. If she looks at Camelot, she will be cursed.

A collaboration between Blaise & Dall-E an Artificial Intelligence.  Dall-E is a neural network that creates images from text captions for a wide range of concepts expressible in natural language. Machine learning models developed by OpenAI to generate digital images from natural language descriptions.

In the last decade, the largest craze in the Hot Rod world has been a very interesting trend known as Rat Rods. The Rat Rods that are built in this fashion are known for being highly exaggerated versions of 1950s style jalopy.

A Rat Rod is a custom car with a deliberately worn-down, unfinished appearance, typically lacking paint, showing rust, and made from cheap or cast-off parts.

They are rough, low-budget, and, and at times sneered at by other automotive enthusiasts. The difference is that while many vintage cars were intentionally built to be fast; many Rat Rods seem to be purpose-built to get a reaction.
