This song is a perfect example of why nothing created is ever useless. Pieced together from 4 different songs I created over the past 3 years. Lyrics that never felt connected, spliced and crafted to make what I had tried to accomplish with each song made. Production elements from songs I have released, and songs I haven't.

This one is incredibly special to me.

Trying to explain the meaning behind it would only be doing it a disservice, but what I will say is that in life you are often given a choice and those are what make or break us. Time and happenings make those choices harder for some, and for a long time I chose wrong. I don't want to die young.

I wrote "Head Above" at my piano on a rainy LA day. 

Its gone through many revisions (one that even dropped on LNRZ with Bloody White and Clear Eyes). The final version is releasing on DSPs on Jan 27th and it features Reo Cragun.

The past few months have been a bit of a transition period for me. Last year, I had both personal wins and losses. I lost a few grandparents in 2021, but also got engaged to the love of my life. Ive reflected on what balance and peace mean to me and continue to re-define that for myself in my late 20s. It explores that feeling, but as celebration. 

I went through a months long period of not creating any new McClenney material after my album last year. This was one of the first things Ive made this year since being back. I believe NFTs give artists the opportunity to write and tell their narrative on their own terms.

Ive been an independent artist my entire career by choice and this freedom has always been important to me. Were entering a new era and its an honor to drop peaces.1 as my first NFT. Written, produced and mixed by me, I truly loved writing this one. hope you enjoy it.

some of the best things in life evolve naturally and organically. relationships blossom. love blossoms. intimacy blossoms when you allow it to naturally blossom. "find my line" is to me a sonic representation of that exact feeling. that amazing moment where you find the perfect way to show this other person that you want them and you're theirs if they want you too. Whether it's something you say, a gesture with your body language, or a mix of the two It's very subtle, but powerful. There's this spark in that moment and it's one that lights a fire in the special moment you share. There's a trust and vulnerability you share in that moment. Whether you're single or in a relationship the moment exists. If you're like me, engaged and in a relationship for 5+ years, that fire always remains because the bond I share with my partner is so deep and true. Those special moments are even more powerful because we get to exclusively share them for the rest of our lives together. 

writing "find my line" was just as organic. It flowed so naturally, from the writing, to the production, to the recording to the mixing/mastering. There was a bit of pressure leading up the moment everything flowed, but once it finally struck I believe I found my own version of a diamond. I hope you think so too. thanks for listening.

Alexandrine (Grabbitz 1994 Version) 

I first wrote "Alexandrine" while I was departing a long term relationship.  I linked up with one of my favorite producers /good friend Mark Evans to assist on instrumentation and production.  We released it fast and low key.  Not even a week after the release, our friend Grabbitz sent us this remix he titled "Grabbitz 1994 Version" -- which is a very sweet and subtle take on the original with added percussions and backing vocals.  Needless to say I was obsessed.  In fact, I was so excited that I forgot to release it.  But now feels like a good time.

I wrote this song for my girlfriend back when she wasnt too sure if she wanted to be mine. Its funny because the reason she wasnt sold was because she thought I wasnt ready for it. 
 

This song was just a reminder, letting her know how devoted I actually am and how ready I actually was.

In a remote effort this song originated from Lyrah, was blessed by bloody white, and finalized by Clear eyes. Lyrah & bloody white are two artists who we"ve grown to love and admire. To hear them on a song together was a dream come true. 

A note from the artists:

Lyrah - This song feels like overwhelm + optimism. I wrote it at my piano on a rainy LA day. I remember feeling buried by my to do list, like I was just keeping my head above water. And its amazing to obsess over the things you make, but sometimes you lose yourself in it.

bloody - Do dogs actually go to heaven? If so, can they talk once they arrive? Something to think about.

Jeremy - I loved this tune the moment I heard it - I"m so grateful to Lyrah and bloody for trusting me to take it across the finish line! Perhaps my favorite part of the creative process.

A long form generative art project that asks the question: Is the art in the code or the output? For on-chain generative artwork it is both, simultaneously. Tracing the lineage from Sol LeWitts Wall Drawings to Larva Labs Autoglyphs, Aaron Pennes Within/Without decouples the artist's instructions from the visual output, and those instructions are interpreted according to some element of chance.

The familiar Autoglyph-like structure is made up of primitive forms: lines, circles, and squares. In WW these are translated to create complex rectangular structures, dreamlike gradients, and soft edges made of pixelated digital artifacts.
