This song describes a point in time at which I felt like the odds were stacked against me and my back was to the wall. Coming from where I"m from, this isn"t a space that"s foreign to me. I had to learn to remain level headed and accountable for my role in getting to the position I found myself in and patient. No matter how bad it gets I always find a way out. I"m covered by the source.

I wanted to offer this to anyone who needs to hear it at a time line this. No matter how heavy things get you"ve got the tools to get the weight up off you.

when i wrote In My Head, it was a message and reminder to make ur mind a safer place; to not let each and every thought that floods you distract you from your internal & external reality; to focus on who you truly know yourself to be at your core. 

i wanted this song and what it means to me to be shared stripped back to its rawest form, to fully convey the message behind it and how it was first written. so this a special acoustic version to do that. <3 

its a free gift for the holidays this year and as the first of many drops that will be paying it forward to different causes, secondary proceeds are going to Nvak Foundations Artist Care Program to bring resources like mental health care to a musician in need, who will be selected by the golden egg winner.

without having access to resources like therapy, i wouldnt be able to show up as 100% of myself every day in this space and otherwise. i would love nothing more than to provide that to another artist.

With "Nervous", we wanted to highlight our individual strengths in songwriting. We each took a stab at the beat and put down melodies and lyrics that best fit each of our vibe. What was supposed to be an easy stripped back song, became an elegant love song about a girl that makes us nervous.

The Acoustic Album lol is a collection of mostly acoustic song starters dying to be finished.

Mija is so busy being an international superstar DJ that she does not have the attention span to complete any of her projects (lol)

The collection is meant to encourage collaboration and bring these projects to life in new and creative ways.

To give each song the attention it deserves, the project is broken into 4 unique Parts - all featuring 3 songs from the larger album.

Parts are released sequentially, meaning the whole album will come out over the course of multiple months.
