"The work is built with a simple premise  what if the color of every pixel is derived from a small number of points which have a hue, an intensity and a direction. Given a simple equation, the color of a given pixel can be determined. You can think of these cones like light sources, and the equation is not dissimilar to how you might explore the mixing of different light sources. Starting with that simple approach, I did my normal thing of turning the volume knob up to 11, and tried to see how I could break this system in different ways, in order to explore the different feelings, moods and expressions that emerge. I gravitate to work which feels illuminated, where light is a central component, and with this study I found light everywhere I looked. The system starts as a simple mathematical function (these are essentially photographs of math), but I like to iterate and iterate to find natural, emergent properties and moments that surprise. *Wayfinder* is a 2.5d experiment: an infinite extruder that generates an ongoing stack of 2d shapes.
 
The beginning of this project dates back to the involvement of the artists in a visual exploration undertaken for a previously commissioned project. Their task was to envision futuristic languages and signage systems for a science fiction film. This research laid the foundation for this new long-term project, where the artists retained the concept of layering and reimagined it by developing a new and efficient code.

*Ecco the Dolphin: C a t a c l y s m* reimagines the classic Sega Genesis game, *Ecco: The Tides of Time* as a parable for the Anthropocene told through a series of postcards and looping animated GIFs. Works were created by glitching ROM files of the 1994 game, recording the ensuing game performances, and crafting looping videos from these recordings. *Ecco: The Tides of Time* was the sequel to *Ecco the Dolphin*, a game franchise that has earned a cult reputation for its unique graphics (designed by Lszl Szenttornyai and Ed Annunziata) and post-human storyline, influenced by John C. Lilly's controversial research with psychedelics and dolphins. In *Ecco the Dolphin: C a t a c l y s m*, the threat of an alien invasion has given way to ecological collapse and the resulting collective chaos, exemplified through endless glitches and corrupted gameplay mechanics.

over-time *is an exploration of the materiality found in default web user interface standards. Web developers are often the first to point out that the web changes over time. Not only do standards vary from one browser to another, but they also evolve over the years and its wise to design the web to fail gracefully. In this generative piece, an algorithmic curve rotates in motion, allowing internet standards to serve as the brush and the browserasthecanvas.*
