The Eye

and marking the beginning of each new Cycle, adventurers came upon an epiphany, a breakthrough, a discovery.  And then a frenzy of building and development, leading to unexpected new adventures.

First the Orders, a clue to the origins and earliest adventures.  Then Classes & Levels, creating sense out of the jumbled chaos.  Then the Enchantments, a third lore, mysteriously dormant.

The start of the next Cycle was marked by the discovery of The Eye, hidden in the lining of the bag, out of sight, and nearly lost to time.

As the proverb goes: *A Lootbound Eye unlocks infinite branches*. 

The stories, lore and legends one finds curated within the Eye have been recorded on-chain in the Librarium for safeguarding across generations...

\"2020: Total Clarity\"

With "2020: Total Clarity," artists Mike Varley and Jessi Highet (collectively Highley Varlet) embarked on a year-long, 5 marathon a week walking journey visiting every neighborhood and borough of New York City. 

Starting June 21st, 2020 and concluding on June 20th, 2021, the pair walked over 7,000 miles and 260 marathons in total - concluding with their marriage on the final day.

To celebrate both the two year anniversary of completion and the initial foray into the project's vast video archive, this companion film documents the pedometer output from each completed marathon session - 26.2 miles at a minimum with some sessions exceeding the required length. In addition, smaller walks were taken and recorded throughout the year to achieve a minimum mileage of 7,000 for the project.

A Ticklish Special

The entire biography of television producer Toco Wheldon flashes before our eyes. The original "toco" is a polys.art piece also created by me. This short animation was created using ProsePainter and DeepDream to make hundreds of separate modifications of the original.

"Toco Wheldon was born in Flintshire, Wales. 

After graduating from the London School of Economics, he joined the BBC in 1952 as a publicity officer, and soon became a regular children"s television presenter. 

By the sixties he was the editor and co-host of an arts magazine programme "The Toucan"s Eye" that ran for 12 years. The programme became increasingly experimental and, at times, avant garde. 

Wheldon entered management until his compulsor y retirement in 1975. He moved to rural Buckinghamshire, where he bred the Wheldon chicken, which was made illegal to keep in 2009. It was in his beloved chicken shed where he died by explosion in 1986. His ashes were worked into a thick paste and reconstituted into a new Toco Wheldon."
