In EIP-1559, every transaction fee is composed of both a base fee and a miner tip. The base fee is burned, and the miner tip is paid to a block"s miner. The miner tip equals the gas used in a transaction * minimum(miner tip, fee cap - base fee). The miner tip is essentially a small bribe to miners in order to incentivize the inclusion of transactions with the largest tip into a block. "Miner Tip" is a visual representation of an ETH tip between users and miners with the ETH symbol containing the exact miner tip formula code from go-ethereum.

Ledger, created by x0r, is a fully on-chain dynamic NFT that leverages smart contract composability. The ASCII image portrays a subtle x0r logo where the vertical line contains the addresses of all current owners of the NFT. Whenever this NFT transfers, the ASCII art will update and always reflect both the current owners and the last block number where an update occurred.

The ASCIIPunks grew out of a realization that many of the NFTs we trade and collect today are nothing more than tokens with a hardcoded link to a centralized server containing metadata. With many NFT"s on the market, you have to trust that whoever is hosting the actual image keeps their promise to host the artwork for the entire life of the ethereum blockchain.

As an on-chain maximalist, I find the idea of trusting centralized services to host artwork that I own entirely too custodial, and against the overall ethos of crypto and decentralization. What value can an NFT really have, so long as the token itself is not inseparable from the art in question? It is this question that led to the development of ASCIIPunks.

So if you are an on-chain maximalist, a decentralization junkie, or a real OG crypto head, this is the project for you.

Gas is the transaction fee paid by users interacting with the Ethereum Blockchain. The amount of gas paid in a transaction is calculated based on the computational complexity of the executed smart contract code. Specifically, there is a gas cost for each EVM opcode. For example, storing data in a smart contract using the "SSTORE" opcode costs 20,000 gas. Gas is a visual representation of a gas meter composed of every EVM opcode mapped to its associated gas cost.
