 Gotta Be was created at MeLoX old studio space in Flatbush Brooklyn. I remember it like it was yesterday. MeLo was  searching through some records and landed on this Deniece Williams  track  Free I made the  ooou this is fire face MeLo zoned out and went to work like a mad scientist and the rest is history. This is just 1 of many jams that we have in the vault. So excited to finally be able my share this vibe. 

Gotta be is about the importance of remaining who you are and not bending for anyone else. Not shrinking yourself for the comfort of others. Always remain who you are because there is no one like you. We are all 1 of 1s so lets embrace it.  Not to mention its a full blown jam! Listen and enjoy.  Big Blesss!!!

Dot x Goodnight Cody - LOVESICK

LOVESICK is the first collaboration between Dot and Goodnight Cody on Sound, as well as Codys genesis drop on Sound. 

Dot and Cody first met in 2012 through production collective TeamSupreme, and have been friends and collaborators for over ten years. 

This drop will help to fund some much needed gear purchases for both artists: Cody needs to finally replace his 2014 MacBook, and Dots monitors just bit the dust after 8 years of use. 

The winner of the Golden Egg will have a special cameo* in the music video for LOVESICK, as well as receive a Dot Merch Package. 

*Other video participation options will be available if the collector wishes to remain anonymous.

Love has, and always will be the most complex and confusing emotion in all of its joy and agony. We fall in love... we believe that it will conquer all... that nothing can come between us and the person we love. But, sometimes we fall for someone who feels right for us, instead of someone who is... and we end up hurting ourselves in the process.

We make mistakes, they make mistakes, and we have no clue how to handle the challenges that come with loving someone. We stick by our person through all of their mistakes because we want to believe something that simply isn"t true. Hoping for a future that won"t exist.

Young love is falling for someone we believe is perfect, despite the reality. That is the blessing of it. Learning from our mistakes, and growing into ourselves.
