This is a tune I started while staying in an Airstream trailer in the woods of central California, channeling my inner Bon Iver. I spent 5 days out there making music and hiking all day. Drank a lot of instant coffee as well.

I recorded probably 30 demos in that trailer and I"ve been chipping away at them ever since. Whenever I get stuck or at a loss for new ideas, I crack open one of those projects and I can still feel the palpable sense of inspiration I had on that trip. 

The core foundation of this song is a sample of an old song my friend and I made about 10 years ago. I used some granular synthesis to make a bed from that old track, then structured a new song around the sample. As I often do I recorded my voice then mangled it up to make some emotive vocal chops. 

I"m hoping this one takes you on a nice little mental trip -- you deserve it

This song is a perfect example of why nothing created is ever useless. Pieced together from 4 different songs I created over the past 3 years. Lyrics that never felt connected, spliced and crafted to make what I had tried to accomplish with each song made. Production elements from songs I have released, and songs I haven't.

This one is incredibly special to me.

Trying to explain the meaning behind it would only be doing it a disservice, but what I will say is that in life you are often given a choice and those are what make or break us. Time and happenings make those choices harder for some, and for a long time I chose wrong. I don't want to die young.

Every month I will be going to a new location with a friend and making a song with them. 

Whatever demo we have at the end of the trip will be minted on Sound, along with other activations across Web3. No additional edits, no overthinking. Just making music and throwing it up for the world to judge. I"ve always wanted to drop songs at the same time that the NFT drops and this is my way of taking steps in that direction.

For the first episode, me and DEEGAN went to San Diego. We made multiple demos but this felt like the one that we were both most inspired by. I"m recording this whole project on a mid 2000"s camcorder so you might hear some easter eggs from the footage interwoven throughout the songs.

to celebrate my 1-YEAR ANNIVERSARY in web3, i am sooo excited/proud/honored to release this celebratory anthem, FWM! this song speaks to the joy and liberation that web3 has brought me in this past year. 

i released my first NFT in November of 2021 and didn"t know what the hell i was doing. what is a mint? wait, it means to sell and to buy? what is gas and what am i putting it in? why is everyone saying GM? i was lost for a long time, yo. lmao. but with time, support, and a strenuous amount of studying, i grew to know and love this incredible space that we"re in a space that allows artists to finally see the value of their work, to actually make a living off of their art, and to create communities with people who genuinely care about them and want them to win. coming from web2, this was so new for me. it was the breath of fresh air that i prayed for, and i"ll always appreciate this space for that.

fast-forward a year and i"m the Head of Artist Relations for the very music NFT platform you are on right now! helping artists everyday experience that same freedom and joy that i"ve experienced! learning to teach, getting to give. i couldn"t have planned or even imagined that a year could change my life the way that it did, but God did, and i"m grateful for His grace everyday.

our first music showcase Sound Lounge Live is this Wednesday, 11/16 and Art Basel is right around the corner, so i had to make us something to dance to okay! something to celebrate ourselves to! i know that every day in crypto isn"t a pretty one, but we"ve got so much to be proud of and i really need us all to know that.

i"m scheduling "FWM!" to go live at 11pm pst on 11/16 because yes  I"M DOING A LIVE MINT AT THE SOUND LOUNGE LIVE SHOW!! if all goes according to plan (*fingers crossed*), i"ll be on stage and we can all mint this at the same time! (unless you were smart and grabbed a presale, then you can just focus on enjoying the vibes lol.)
