From my Debut EP as LUCA LUSH Cherry Blossom. First record I felt comfortable enough singing on. It weaves its way through future bass and future house, emblematic of the era and my production leanings at the time while still residing in a shoebox apartment in NYC. Maximalist melodic music made for the dance floor.

Love is, and always will be, something that brings out the best and worst in all of us. 

I always thought I knew how to go about loving something, whether it was a person, a thing, an experience or myself. Time and time again, I am shown that that love is not what I was taught or know it to be. 

I am always thankful for any moment that shows me just how little I know, especially when it comes to the things I have always believed to be true. In my brief time away, I have had many of those moments, and that"s where this song comes from. A special person, a tough situation, the feelings of love, pain, loss and gain all combined into a beautiful and heavy moment.

This is about knowing that what you want is to love, but never being able to get it right.

it's friday still

on monday i went to big bear with a bunch of my friends to see the first snowfall of the year, but it ended up just torrentially raining for the first day, like so bad that the power went out.

we finally got our snow, and that day the crypto market imploded, my friend crashed his car, AND i got sick. 

i managed to get out of bed over the next two days enough to appreciate the snow outside, but was pretty fucking bedridden. so much so that i missed uploading friday"s song yesterday.

so i wrote this to cheat the system.

Sundreamer

"Sundreamer" represents a bit of a rebirth for me. Going through the loss of my father this past year crushed a lot of my creative spirit. My dad was someone I could always send my demos to and he would use his keen ears to give me feedback. Part of the joy I got from making music was getting to share my work with him. Losing him took a lot out of me. 

Even before my dad got sick, I was on a strange trajectory with music. I was pretty caught up in trying to make music that would perform well on streaming services. Often I would optimize my songs to fit Spotify playlists so I could make a decent income. The downside of that was that I was making quite a few creative sacrifices and just wasnt enjoying what I was making anymore. 

With Sundreamer Im going back to my roots of making music for the joy of it. Im in a new creative chapter now and am shedding that popularity-centric point of view. Music and creativity are so important to me that I need to let them flourish before I worry about anything else. 

Im back to basics, making music that speaks to my soul.

Space and Time

Space and Time is the first song in a series of NFTs to be released with Sound.xyz. The lyrics were inspired by the beauty of solitude and the struggle of protecting our energy from outside influences. 
This felt like a relevant theme for my first music release in the NFT space which thrives on autonomy and artistic freedom.

Space and Time is an edition of 25.  Hidden within the editions is a Golden Egg, which will entitle the winner to a 1/1 SKULLY from my main collection.

NOT4ME

The stories that we tell ourselves determine our self-image, which determines how we move through each day. NOT4ME is about recognizing and releasing the habits, patterns and stories in life that hurt us more than they contribute to our healing.

NOT4ME has been an affirmation for me throughout the 6 months since I wrote it - it is the story that I told myself to reclaim my identity and learn how to love myself despite persistent feelings of guilt and shame. Releasing these negative feelings allowed me to better show up for myself, re-center creativity and welcome healthier habits into my life.

This song is more relevant to me now than ever. It has made me more discerning of what supports my growth and what is simplynot for me 

I hope NOT4ME supports your journey in some way.

I hope it makes you smile.

I hope it makes you dance.

NOT4ME - Golden Egg

TREBUCHET

I created TREBUCHET to tell - and write - my story from here going forward. Earlier in my music career I had the opportunity to sign to a record label, and I did. I seized what was (at the time) the best option I had to take music seriously (and convince my family that it could be taken seriously). Signing that deal opened so many doors, and taught me so much about who I was, who I wanted to be, but most importantly who I was not. As time went by I wandered further and further away from why I started creating in the first place, eventually arriving at an unrecognizable version of myself. 

I spent much of the pandemic questioning who I was (as a human and as an artist), what I was creating, and whether or not it was worth continuing. But through time and sustained chipping away I started to remember and re-recognize the kid who first started creating - the one who rushed to open Ableton in any spare free time and express himself honestly and openly - before all the expectations and extra cooks came into the kitchen. This song is my most honest return to that, and I think sets the tone for all of my music that will follow.

I provide this context so that you might better understand TREBUCHET as a song and metaphor. I made this record exactly as I wanted to - with its weird, yet super personal sonic choices, somewhat nebulous lyrics, and a key change at the end (among other things) - because for so long I wasnt free to create in the way that I know Im supposed to: following only my own ideas, experience and intuition. The song feels right at home with some of the records Im most proud of from my past, and combines my newly rediscovered creative drive with my last few years of production and songwriting experience for something Im finally proud of once again. 

I hope you love it as much as I do.

Dump

Like most of Lil Bubble"s catalogue, "Dump" is a song about recent market events and the current climate of the crypto space. Every day"s the same, wake up and I check, if the FED gon" pivot, is over? Cos I"m rekt. Production also by Lil Bubble.

Lil Bubble is a Web3-native musician & degenerate moon boy. The satirical character was born in 2019 with the release of crypto-themed parody songs like All Time Lows, When Moon, Liquidated and Never Ever (Selling Back To Tether).

The singing spacemans music videos have since amassed over 8 million views and led to performances at Blockshow Asia, Binance Blockchain Week Paris, NFTfest Australia and a number of industry collaborations. With a debut album on the way and plans to build a whole swag of experiences in the metaverse, the Lil Bubble character is set for expansion into the realm of possibilities we call Web3. Desert Trash

"Desert Trash" is the title track on my first album that I released in Feb 2020 

Due to covid and my cancelled tour, I always felt like these songs never really got to see the light of day.  Sure, it was released-- but the unprecedented times were a huge factor in my ability to market them and share them the way I"d been dreaming of for years. Obviously at the time there were much more important things to worry about.

Circling back now, I would like to revisit a few of my favorite tracks on the album and share them with the web3 community <3

Alexandrine (Grabbitz 1994 Version) 

I first wrote "Alexandrine" while I was departing a long term relationship.  I linked up with one of my favorite producers /good friend Mark Evans to assist on instrumentation and production.  We released it fast and low key.  Not even a week after the release, our friend Grabbitz sent us this remix he titled "Grabbitz 1994 Version" -- which is a very sweet and subtle take on the original with added percussions and backing vocals.  Needless to say I was obsessed.  In fact, I was so excited that I forgot to release it.  But now feels like a good time.
