An algorithm inspired by the classifieds section of old newspapers

Before social media, people would use classified ads to find services, jobs, and even partners. The charm of this medium for me was its brevity, akin to a tweet where you had limited characters to describe yourself, your service, or your request. Despite its basic functionality, the columns and rows, font size, and occasional clipart created density throughout the page that I found interesting to look at.

The algorithm uses a grid ranging from 3x3 to 20x20, with each cell further divided within the same range. Each cell represents an individual listing, and instead of text, it's randomly filled with polygons to create varying densities. The resulting outputs range from near-identical to more free-form.

Clonism explores cloning as a common, everyday reality, a banality that is both near and distant. It diverges from the typical, grim, metallic clones by adopting a pastel pop aesthetic and offering a new visual language. This collection redefines perceptions of cloning in popular culture and science, distinguishing it from traditional representations.  
  
Both unsettling and absurd at the same time, the collection symbolizes the banality and redundancy of advanced technology. The pieces represent clones as mere products of consumer society rather than scientific marvels, seamlessly integrating into the mundane. It critiques consumer society and the trivialization of individuality through mass production, reflecting on a world where everything, even humanity, is commodified and disposable.  
  
The use of soft pastels contrasts against the eerie sterility of cloning technology, revealing an absurdity in existence. The color palette and the deadpan stillness highlight the non-functionality of the clones, evoking an artificiality. It"s as if we"ve become so adept at creating life that we"ve forgotten to imbue it with meaning.  
  
Alice Gordon is a raw AI maximalist. She is a part of the esteemed "Post Photographic Perspectives" artist roster curated by the Fellowship. She has gained recognition for her collections Disproportionate Anxiety and Cognitive Behaviour. She has a passion for the surrealist movement and calls her distinctive style absurdist surreal lonerism. Her art occupies the silent gaps in conscious thoughts, probing the quietest corners of existence and repression. Her creative process is a mixture of experimentation and spontaneity. Through sprawling images of densely populated urban landscapes and human gatherings, the collection reduces individuals to minuscule points, forming an overwhelming sea of indistinguishable dots.

Beyond the literal portrayal of overpopulation, this collection utilizes the metaphor of crowd density as an analogy for the inundation of information in our modern era. It poses questions about identity, individuality, and the struggles faced by the human mind in processing and prioritizing the relentless surge of data we encounter daily. In the heart of Paris, there lived a family like no other, les Parisiens. These AI-generated photorealistic artworks employ the enigmatic aesthetics of Surrealism to present a captivating portrayal of a family"s multifaceted existence.  
A concoction of paradoxes, as the canvas unfolds as a collage of disparate scenes, showcasing the diverse spectrum of emotions, experiences, and dynamics within the family unit. The artwork navigates the raw and unfiltered aspects of familial life. The garden picnic scenes, bathed in Surrealism"s soft, dreamlike hues, depict idyllic moments of togetherness.  

Yet, lurking beneath the serene surface, some artworks delve into the shadowy realm of the human psyche. With a disturbingly violent and chaotic style, the hidden aspects of family affairs unravel. These darker vignettes pierce the viewer"s consciousness with stark and unsettling imagery, depicting the intricate web of conflicts, secrets, and suppressed emotions that often characterize family life.  
And the modern existence of families bathed in scaremongering in the information age. The presentation of Surrealism, artfully rendered by AI, evokes a sense of cognitive dissonance, hijacking the reality of the outside world for family by warping the dimensionality of the backgrounds. It prompts viewers to confront the dual nature of family existence, where moments of harmony and violence coexist.  
It beckons us to contemplate the complex tapestry of relationships, unveiling the simultaneous beauty and turmoil that define our closest bonds and leaves us with the question: Is this a depiction of a single family, or is it a mirror reflecting the universal experiences of us all?

Neural Fad reimagines Tokyo street fashion history to examine the relationship between AI and memory.

In post-war Japan, distinctive magazines and television cultivated an aspirational youth culture that gave rise to unique fashion subcultures at different train stations around Tokyo. Inspired by the rebellious spirit of each generation and their projections towards an imagined future, Kusano produces records of subcultures that never actually existed.

Reimagining the rich vocabulary and history of Tokyo street fashion through AI, the collection takes the viewer across and beyond the post-war decades of Japanese fashion history   from the Moga and Mobo of the 1940s to the Japanese hippies known as the Ften Tribe, the Karasu Tribe of the 90s and the Gyaru and Decora fashion of the late 90s and early 2000  to present Tokyo street fashion as imagined beyond time. 

Through this collaboration between AI and Japanese street fashion archives that she herself contributed to as a street photographer of Harajuku fashion,  Kusano uses emerging technologies to offer a retro-futuristic intervention into the landscape of Tokyo street fashion.
