codependency [demo]

This is an acoustic demo that I wrote/recorded yesterday (11/18/22) ~ it is a reflection on past relationships and the duality of codependency. It can be beautiful for two people to lean on each other during hard times, but it can quickly turn toxic. Too much dependency on a significant other, friend or family member can be detrimental to one"s growth and individuality.

I didn"t overthink this - I wrote the song and recorded this demo in a couple of hours. It"s a little rough around the edges, but so are many relationships

Kola Champagne

Excited to share my genesis drop on Sound.xyz titled Kola Champagne. I made this track during the winter of 2017 when I first started learning how to produce music.

I spent a lot of my summers growing up in Jamaica. At an early age I was exposed to large music events, that would later inspire me to want to make music. Too young to drink, 'Kola Champagne' was a staple beverage growing up, and holds many memories.

 I wanted to create a song that brought the warmth of the tropics and fuse it with a Northern touch. This song allowed me to experiment with writing styles, production styles and vocal techniques and remains one of my favourite songs.

I really miss when Ludacris was in every DJs rotation. "Peanut Butter Cherry" is me explaining how I am really missing everything that is nostalgic (for me, the late 2000s/early 2010s) while making sure the song (& myself) still feels good. 
PBC opens with my brain saying, "I been at this function, I been smoking something, idk who this is, guess we some hooligans, it"s hard to get thru this shit, can you play some more Ludacris, cus it"s hard to get through this shit" in a low pitched voice. Not sure if it is the devil or angel on my shoulder, but it is definitely telling me to leave this party and spend my time doing what I actually enjoy.
