Totem of Taste is all about the donuts. More than donuts, it is about taste buds.
It celebrates the delightful, sweet, and mysterious flavors that the tip of your tongue wants to remember but cannot disentangle.
In a bite, one sense ignites another.
On the palette, a color blends with its ethereal neighbor.
A point moves in tandem with millions of other points to reflect the monumental presence of food in our lives in real-time.
The donuts are made with strange attractors  dynamic systems that are extremely sensitive to initial conditions. The algorithm guides the trajectories of the points until they settle into deterministic shapes to naturally form textures.

Freeplan explores the early 20th-century modernist architectural concept open plan which indicates the dissolution of rooms and the visual building boundaries. Instead of conventional boxes, freely placed partitions, floors, structures, and other elements create a feeling of space. The transaction hash determines the overall architectural composition, context, existence of components, and representation style. Each iteration is scaled, oriented, and numbered like a proper architectural project.

Folradura means fur in Old Occitan, a Romance language spoken in the south of France. This series explores producing organic patterns using a cocktail of maths, physics, noise, and randomness. FOLRADURA is based on one main concept: local modifiers. A modifier applies a local effect to the grid of hundreds of thousands of points. What you see is the trajectory of the points. Each edition plays with one or two types of modifiers that can be positioned in many different ways, sometimes randomly and other times in a grid. Each type produces very different effects like squares, spirals, lines, and waves. Each point is influenced by all the modifiers, and all this complexity creates an organic aspect and ample details.

mono no aware by ixnayokay

mono no aware is an exploration of change at the borders between existence and emptiness. Shapes and colors appear, twisting and fading gradually into new forms. The evolution of the system creates unpredictable and surprising emergent patterns, as deviations from neat symmetry quickly evolve into chaos. The animation is a cellular automaton running with no pre-defined end  but some patterns dont have what it takes to survive indefinitely. Thats okay; not everything lasts forever (but the pieces will restart in this case).

The Level of Detail (LOD) on each animation can be adjusted using [Left Arrow] for less, or [Right Arrow] for more, to allow a customized visual experience and achieve the desired framerate for various devices. Note that while different LODs all follow the same animation rules, they may exhibit slightly different behaviors from each other due to size-dependent resonance  much as the same guitar string plays different notes at different lengths. Each token contains a family of several closely-related animations to choose from.

Art Blocks

**Axo is an abstraction of the human mental condition.** 

Each work has neurons. Each neuron has a nucleus at its source and fires electrical signals searching for synaptic connections. 

The signals, or in this case, pixels, act in accordance with the current mental state, which periodically enters states of stress, awareness, re-centering, reprogramming, and more.

The work explores the brains ability to change its synaptic pathways, materializing our cognitive flexibility and rigidity, inviting us to consider what barriers prohibit growth and positive change.  **Axo** is part observation of my own mental state and part research, analysis, and reflection. 

We are all a node on the societal network. The effects of our individual state ripple out impacting the network as a whole. As such, each **Axo** can be connected with and influence other works in the collection. Awareness can spread and evolve the network, or stress can cause chaos.  

**Axo** opens a dialogue on personal growth and societal change at the intersection of cognitive science, art, and technology, inviting us to envision a better existence and a harmonious network, underlining that this utopia is only a shift in perspective away. 

**Axo** is fully responsive & built using my pixel-easing algorithm. Pure javascript. 19kb.

**Interactivity**

Each Axo has a default state, though the viewer can also take control and influence its state of mind using the following keys:

"a" => awareness
Toggles awareness

"f" => freak out
Toggles a freak out.

"p" => stuck in past
Toggles being stuck in the past. May not do much while in awareness.

"c" => centered
Toggles centering the state of mind.

"d" => disabled fate
Disabled fate disables any auto-state changes, so the state of mind will only change with interaction.

"w" => willed experience
Axo can be curated by the viewer and replayed later. By pressing W,  all interactions up to that point will be collected and the work will reload with a new link that can be saved and replayed at any time. 

"0-9" => rigid pathways at specified reprogramming

Axos current state can be preserved at any of the first ten states of mind. If a viewer were to press 8, Axo would flow through the first seven changes, then stop at the 8th state change. 

"z" => scale up
"x" => scale down

Scale up/down to view in more detail, improve performance, or just gain a different perspective.

"s" => save a still

Each Axo can be curated using the keyboard, query string, and/or programmatically posting messages from a host page.

The project focuses on how easily one assigns meaning to seemingly random combinations of blocks, giving them personality and creating emotional connections.

I was inspired by Ringers, in which people see animals and other characters. I wanted to amplify this quality, and the idea of sculptures made of blocks clicked! Endless combinations, funny characters, and my passion for cubes, voxels, and modular systems.

To make the sculptures, I used technique of hybrid voxel raymarching, so we can say, the sculptures are made of colored void in a reflected space. Some of them may seem impossible due to the lack of perspective, but sooner or later it all clicks! It helps to keep in mind that all shapes are symmetrical.

The script uses modern features of GPU so it"s supposed to work only on desktop: Chrome, Firefox or Safari

Recollection is released as part of reGEN, a special charitable auction of generative art to raise funds for Cure Alzheimers Fund, curated by Alex Estorick and Foteini Valeonti in collaboration with The Giving Block. 


It is curious how our memories can mislead. I vividly recall a childhood trek up Mt. Fuji with my parents through a foggy bamboo forest, and the image of my dad buying a walking stick from an older vendor. But as my mom later clarified, the adventure actually took place in a Tokyo park  Ive never even visited Fuji-san. Contemplating this blend of the real and the imagined has led me to create generative vistas whose clarity is eroded by the passing of time.


The landscapes in Recollection are understated and familiar: rolling hills, distant mountains, and sporadic clusters of trees or forests. There is a path through grass and stone  sometimes clear but, at other times, overgrown and obscure. Many of these paths culminate at a portal, its purpose enigmatic. It is pure mystery, both inviting and unsettling. It is an obscuring void, a memory half-recalled.

Recollection is a meditation on the mysteries of the mind, and a tribute to the quest for understanding. It stands not only as a beacon of hope for those grappling with the disintegration of memory, but also a testament to the enduring pursuit of clarity in the midst of obscurity. While some details may fade with time, the essence  the emotions, the lessons, the significance  has the potential to regenerate through reflection, conversation, and creative expression.


Recollection is part of the reGEN initiative for Alzheimers research. For many, this cause is deeply personal and, I believe, it is no exaggeration to say that almost everyone has witnessed the effects of Alzheimers, be it within their own family or through friends. This project not only creates funding but also plays a pivotal role in amplifying awareness about Alzheimers disease. The opportunity to merge the joy of artistic expression with a mission that has tangible, real-world implications is profoundly inspiring.
