Climate change is the largest looming threat to humanity. According to the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) in New Delhi, our annual carbon dioxide (CO2)
emissions have grown by about 70 times since the pre-industrial era, reaching nearly 36.4 gigatonnes (Gt) in 2019. Unless we bring them down to 18.22 Gt by 2030, we are headed for catastrophic climate events. 

The first classical Music Blueprint on Async, "Element" translates the sounds of the natural world into the language of the string quartet with two types: before and after the destruction of natural resources
caused by industrialization, colonization, and overconsumption. Each layer of the string quartet (violin 1, violin 2, viola, and cello) has four different states (fire, water, air, and earth) that are each played differently. 

EARTH - matter of fact, march-like, full and deep tone
AIR - otherworldly, harmonics, ponticello, airy tone
WATER - legato, glissandi, pizzicato, syncopated 
FIRE - staccato, tremolo, agitated, chopping

A portion of sales from this project will be donated to the Clean Air Task Force (www.catf.us), who work to curb air pollution in all its forms through regulation at the US state and federal levels.

WHATEVER

Singer, musician and art world star-in-the-making, Kena Rose, has teamed up with Grammy-winning songwriter and producer, Genzo, and award-winning songwriter, Cheryl Yie (who happen to be her parents), to create WHATEVER, the first generative pop song and PFP project on Async to utilize the Music Blueprints tool.

WHATEVERs masterful layers upon layers of music and art can generate over 120 million unique NFTs. What also makes this drop special is each mint will be a fully-realized, full-length version of a complete song, with different beats, instruments, and even vocal and melodic parts, covering such varied genres as electronic and pop and rock. Multiple sets of lyrics have been written, further adding to the diversity of each mint. Likewise, whatever (pun intended) art/PFP that is generated will have its own personality, with each color, facial feature, hairstyle, background element and more carefully and thoughtfully created by Kena to match the mood of the music. Three lucky collectors may also find themselves with one of the 3 unique mixes or legendaries of WHATEVER, each paired with their own animated version of the artwork done by Kena. Answers came to me unexpectedly one summer morning at 2 am. I was in a trance, playing the chords repeatedly until the lyrics seemed to write themselves. It felt like the words were given to me before I fully understood them. At that time, I had been reflecting on the idea that our reality could be part of a grand experiment, a giant holographic pulse. Everything I was reading and listening to seemed to hint at this concept. The purpose being to disconnect us from the truth of who we are, through the limitations of the human body, societal programming, and cycles of suffering, to see if we remember. But what do we remember? I believe the answer can never be expressed in words. It"s a felt sense that we all glimpse from time to time. At the deepest level, I think we have all, at a soul level, agreed to be part of this game, not to seek escape, but to fully immerse ourselves in every facet of it, knowing that it is, in fact, just a game.

The chorus melody visited me in a dream after I had just woken up from the ache of unrequited love. The connection was etheric and like nothing I had felt before. The Talking Palm Tree

This was the first ever track I fully self-produced that didn"t sound like a basicbish beat. It was also the first music I made after completely abandoning & deleting my old artist project. Something awakened, literally over night. The Talking Palm Tree was essentially the official doula for the birth of ALYSS and the first offering from my upcoming Answers EP (track 1/5).

At the time of writing the lyrics, I was learning about the Lilith archetype in both astrological and mythological terms. Symbolically, Lilith represents everything natural, raw and untouched. She is the place of total freedom within each of us. The place we are unashamedly who we are without limitation, self-judgement or fear of what the world thinks. Energetically, she is the unconfined wild side we"ve locked away and after having caged myself creatively for so long, discovering her felt like a huge kick up the ass to all the blocks Id built up inside.

The same way she initiated a dormant voice within me through "The Talking Palm Tree, it only felt right that she lay the ground for my genesis footstep into the terrain of web3. May this song activate a core essence within you. We see you <3
