Since the genesis of AI by Warren McCulloch and Walter Pitts in 1943 our understanding of creation and creator has been transformed with a new era of life is  now upon us. This digital artwork reimagines Chen Man's iconic photoshoot of Grimes as the birth of AI and marks the beginning of a multi-chapter journey. 

The photograph features Grimes in a striking pose, marking a key moment in contemporary pop culture. This artwork has been widely celebrated for its unique and powerful composition, and featured in numerous exhibitions, including the 2019 "China's Photography: Over 80 Years" exhibition at the National Museum of China in Beijing.

Chen Man - Soft Noise, Episode 1

One of Chen Mans most iconic works is her photograph of the Canadian musician and artist, Grimes.

The original photograph features Grimes in a striking pose, encapsulating a key moment in contemporary pop culture. This photograph of Grimes has been widely celebrated for its unique and powerful composition, and featured in numerous exhibitions, including the 2019 "China"s Photography: Over 80 Years" exhibition at the National Museum of China in Beijing, and has become an iconic image in the world of fashion and music.

This video replays that photo shoot, imagining it in animated form. The insertion of rockets in the background, and a looming pink orb transforms the work into a dystopian realm.

when you"re in band that has to cross an international border to go to band practice, you get good at being flexible. shifting identities and switching languages is like breathing to us. crossing to the other side is always stretching our sense of home. 

as long as theres music, we are always home. todo cambia menos eso. 

this song is drunk and high on our love for music. our feelings about genres are like our feelings about borders - the more fluid the better. if fela kuti and paul mccartney had a baby that grew up in mexico listening to hip hop, maybe it would sound like this.
