 Gotta Be was created at MeLoX old studio space in Flatbush Brooklyn. I remember it like it was yesterday. MeLo was  searching through some records and landed on this Deniece Williams  track  Free I made the  ooou this is fire face MeLo zoned out and went to work like a mad scientist and the rest is history. This is just 1 of many jams that we have in the vault. So excited to finally be able my share this vibe. 

Gotta be is about the importance of remaining who you are and not bending for anyone else. Not shrinking yourself for the comfort of others. Always remain who you are because there is no one like you. We are all 1 of 1s so lets embrace it.  Not to mention its a full blown jam! Listen and enjoy.  Big Blesss!!!

Hiiii (again)

I'm Kish Robinson  an interdisciplinary artist, director, and performer working in music, film, and the written word. My most extensive project is KILO KISH, a solo music project spanning ten years of exploring personal identity and dissecting the unique times we live in! 

SO excited to bring you NO APOLOGY! from my new album   

NO APOLOGY! is a song about not denying the core truths of who you are for fear of others or yourself. Each line is for people, situations, and systems in my orbit that have caused me a lot of harm, including myself. 

This album explores the power of choice, finding personal freedoms, and escaping imposed old notions and identities. I made this album with my collaborator Ray Brady, on multiple writing trips to Joshua Tree, CA, between 2019-2020.

I created the cover collage from my collection of vintage postcards, which I repurposed along with my image. These postcards represent memories and moments of others, some even written out to loved ones. Now, they're thrust into the present and meshed with my experience decades later. The image is one of many iterations in this style and a part of my     A collection of digital artworks and films. 

The    films are screening this fall with Times Square Arts as part of the Midnight Moment Program!

Alexander 23

Hey Im Alexander 23 an artist/songwriter/producer from Chicago who lives in LA but still roots for the Bulls. I started making music when I was 9 years old after seeing my dad play guitar. I knew instantly that if I wasnt gonna make it to the league that I had to make music for the rest of my life. I played in bands in high school and dropped out of college after my freshman year while studying engineering to tour as a drummer/bass player.

I originally moved to LA in 2018 to write/produce songs for other artists. It was cool to start to try to make a living doing in the studio, but I couldnt help but feel like something was missing. I was working with talented artists, but I wasnt feeling creatively fulfilled. I called my manager and told him to cancel all of my sessions. I wanted to be an artist and make my own music.  I wanted to exist musically outside the studio.

Fast forward a little bit and I was able to release my first music as Alexander 23 in 2019 and was fortunate enough to go on tour with Omar Apollo and Chelsea Cutler that same year. When the pandemic hit in 2020, everything changed, as it did for everyone. Tour was cut short and I went back to LA feeling defeated. That initial isolation brought me back to a time in my own life when everything was going wrong: personally, professionally, romantically. It was that same feeling that something really important was missing.

This feeling inspired me to write IDK You Yet and this song changed my life. This year I was able to go on tour opening for one of my heroes John Mayer, was nominated for a Grammy for co-producing good 4 u by Olivia Rodrigo and just last week IDK You Yet went platinum (three things that dont even sound real when I say them outloud). I wanted to share the original demo of IDK You Yet because hearing it in its original stripped form is such a strong reminder of the power of a single song. As fans of music I think we all understand that and its what keeps us coming back for more.

hi, my names alaina castillo. im 22 years old from houston, currently living in los angeles. for me, music started in my bedroom in texas when i was by myself either after school, work, or sneaking away when life got stressful. i was in choir throughout my school years, but was always told to focus on my studies and things that would put me on a secure path in life. when i was about to finish highschool, i realized that all i wanted to do was break the cycle and make something for myself. i wanted to make those around me proud so that they could see the dream i had in mind was achievable. to them, not being able to see the end result was an immediate red flag for me to stop, but to me it meant that i could create whatever outcome i wanted. 

i started making covers on youtube, trying different things, & meeting the amazing people who supported me from the start. i still talk to a lot of them to this day & dont know where i would be now if it werent for them supporting me and hyping up each upcoming video. starting with a small community was the part that i remember enjoying most. they saw my first video blow up, my channel start to grow, & eventually my move out to los angeles where i started doing small tours and festival performances. it was something that i had always dreamed of while making videos with just a camera and an instrumental track on my computer. 

when i started releasing music as an artist, there were moments where i thought i had found myself, but always had to ask if it was really me because i had no clue who i was or what i wanted to say. i would find it in lyrics of songs or melodies that made me feel something, but i always felt a disconnect. i didnt realize until recently that the person i was looking for inside myself was hurt, broken & hiding. expressing myself was never something that came easy and i forced myself to forget my own problems to please the versions of myself that other people had. before the start of 2022, i went back to houston with this new mindset, recorded music in my spare room, & went back to the reason i wanted to start making music. the reason for wanting to desperately create a world that i could escape to. it came from sadness & trauma, regret & emotional abuse, but also from optimism. a desire to do more, achieve more & show people that i could make it because there was nothing that made me feel more like myself than making music. 

my new song, sad girls always finish first, was the first song i wrote when i got back to la in january. i was sitting in the studio and we had a beat on repeat and the words, troubled girl, came to mind. i had always told myself i could be the happy artist that writes about overcoming problems, but when i started to write sad girls always finish first, i realized i didnt wanna lie. i didnt wanna act happy, i just wanted to feel the emotions however i could so that i could stay sad and eventually come to terms with whatever demons i had. to everyone who listens to this song, whether happy or sad, i want you to know that being sad doesnt mean youre gonna stay that way, or miss out on things, or lose. it means youre gonna experience the feelings that come with the sadness. the anger, the mania, & the confusion & itll push you to grow into someone who finally has a voice of their own. i wanted to create a sad world with a dark side of confidence because we all need to escape to that place once in a while. or everyday, u decide. i hope you enjoy it & i hope youre excited for the art to come.

This song is a perfect example of why nothing created is ever useless. Pieced together from 4 different songs I created over the past 3 years. Lyrics that never felt connected, spliced and crafted to make what I had tried to accomplish with each song made. Production elements from songs I have released, and songs I haven't.

This one is incredibly special to me.

Trying to explain the meaning behind it would only be doing it a disservice, but what I will say is that in life you are often given a choice and those are what make or break us. Time and happenings make those choices harder for some, and for a long time I chose wrong. I don't want to die young.

hello, im alara. im a singer-songwriter and visual artist from new jersey. 

music has always been a part of my life. i began writing songs when i was 11 and taught myself guitar all throughout high school. i"ve always felt like i didn"t belong and creating music was the best way for me to express that emotion. to express all emotions. it was a world i created where i could escape. growing up as a child of immigrant parents, i never saw being a musician as a viable career choice until one and a half years into medical school when i decided that i had to try. i spent almost every night for a year playing open mics in new york city, building a community of artists who made me feel like i wasn"t alone for the first time. that year made me realize making music wasn"t a choice, it"s something i had to do.

fast forward to november of last year. i was just learning about NFTs for the first time and spending every free moment immersing myself in the world of web3. the idea that artists could finally break the confines of the traditional music industry drew me in almost immediately. i"d like my experiences here to convince the 15-year old indian girl struggling to play barre chords in her east coast bedroom that she can be a musician if she wants to be. 

taking inspiration from artists like thom yorke and damien rice, my sound has evolved as i learn more about who i am. i wrote demons as a way to tell myself that it"s alright to be vulnerable. this song is as much for me as it is for someone very close to me. its about finding solace in the idea that everyone is going through something. your demons may not look like mine, but we shouldnt be afraid to admit that they exist. we shouldn"t be afraid to open up.

A trip with friends will always be revealing. This song was born while I was on San Andrs island which is an island off the coast of Colombia known for its deep blue waters, warm weather and rich musical culture. This trip was about an escape, to get away from my thoughts and the people who appeared along the way made this trip something wonderful.

I first learned about Bela promoting on Twitter which lead me to her OpenSea. As I went through her collection I noticed the versatility and knew right away she was a songwriter at heart. That definitely drew my attention since I worked on the publishing side of music for several years helping writers and producers. I collected one of the songs in the collection making it the first music NFT I purchased to support other Latin artists in the space.

We were talking about collaborating for some time and ISLA was the perfect song to start with. The Afrobeats inspired soundscape and the Rhodes driven chord progression set the tone for the song. This is one of those records where I effortlessly did my thing inspired by her writing and the production. This is the remix.
