In this work I use my passion for the impressionist movement to unite the traditional and the modern, and represent one of the most beautiful series of impressionism!

Representing strong and precise brushstrokes and using the combination of different shades of color to give the desired appearance, I brought the water lilies to life, which have their reflection exposed in the lake next to the leaves of the famous Weeping Willow, bringing the viewer on a visit to Monet"s Garden!

This is one of the best northern lights show I was able to capture while I was exploring northern Norway. I drove around without a destination in mind and stayed up all night for weeks to make sure I wouldn"t miss any opportunities and I was not disappointed. This piece represents the unknown. It"s also a reminder that some of my best work is often created when I explore unfamiliar places without a plan and push myself beyond what I feel I"m capable of.

How do I take these self-portraits?

They are a combination of 2 images. I take one shot of the overall scene which is typically a long exposure shot to smooth out any water and clouds in the sky. I then take a second shot of myself as the subject and combine them together in photoshop. Since I am often adding a long exposure technique to my images, I can"t pose for more than a few seconds without visible movement in my hair or dress. I use a remote on my phone that connects to my camera to take the photo.

About the artist - Sarah is a passionate environmental self-portrait and landscape photographer. Based in the beautiful Canadian Rockies, she is widely known for her signature yellow dress, long exposure work, and bubbly personality.

This work explores the limiting aspect of time through the shadows on a man-made wall. The wild sky above is in a timeless space while the walls define the limits and constraints we have as humans orbiting around the sun. The sky is a wild place without shadow.

Wild Skies - Sundial Slice

"Trial Error" is one of a series of looped GIF animations I have made based on an ongoing series of 3d models I have titled "Unreasonable Proposals". These 3d models take the form of impractical and often intentionally unbuildable imaginary monuments inspired by my training and work in the field of architecture. The basic form of Trial Error is a hexagon with 4 parallel sides and two right angle corners. This hexagonal polygon form is something that I rework endlessly in my sketches, screen prints, and digital models. I am drawn to the perfect, endless looping of an animated GIF as the best way to illustrate the intensity of the spell a designer can fall into while searching for a specific form, viewed from a specific angle, for the best, perfect desired effect. "Trial Error" exists in many color variations- this one is one the more subdued options.

"In 2009, I launched ""Captured Aesthetic,"" a blog that served as both a creative outlet and a narrative of interesting developments in the design and art world. This platform mirrored my personal journey from architecture to image-making, acting as a beacon of inspiration during this significant transition. Concurrently, my Instagram account under the same name became a digital canvas for sharing and honing my evolving interests in photography and art.

This period was marked by an exploration of artistic methodologies, particularly the fusion of digital illustration with photography. This approach allowed me to question and reinterpret our collective digital experiences, offering a fresh perspective on reality through the lens of digital innovation.

One of my initial projects, ""Captured Flow"" (2013), exemplifies this exploration. It features a two-dimensional illustrative line that meanders through the static, monumental layers of an architectural photograph, infusing it with an otherworldly and playful energy.

My journey continued with the ""Terraforms"" series, where I integrated low-poly digital geometries into starlit landscapes. These projects reflect my ongoing fascination with blending digital artistry with natural beauty, a theme that has persistently captivated my imagination."
