After an exciting safari trip in Amboseli National Park in Kenya, we saw a beautiful sunset in the rearview mirror which we couldn't miss. As we were getting ready to take the photo, we saw the last herd of wildebeests marching into the twilight.

Kurt Tucholsky  As the Old City of Jerusalem was being bathed in a golden soft warm light, I was drawn to this group of Eritrean pilgrims walking down the Via Dolorosa. Touched by the tranquil beam of light as it flooded the pilgrims' white robes, I could not leave this atmosphere uncaptured.

Green Elixir at Dawn

During a family trip to Viareggio, a town overlooking the Italian seaside, I took this photo which shows a striking contrast between a green algae-covered tree trunk on the beach and a dark cloudy sky. I wanted to capture the atmosphere, so I made a hand-held triple exposure and merged the images to recreate the scene's mood. I had to be quick because my son was cold and urged already for a hot chocolate. 

Power of Nature

This picture was taken on a rainy day in December. Blvand is a small town in Denmark with 200 inhabitants, located directly on the beach of the North Sea. After a nice walk by the sea, my wife and I saw this awesome "Cottage of Blvand" and immediately fell in love with it.I pulled out my iPhone and snapped this moment for eternity.

This amazing view of the stars above Gorg Blau in the mountains of Mallorca was done at a cold Dezember night, some hours before fullmoon rise. It snowed some days before, like it hasn"t for 20 years, so it was very special to see these mountains covered in snow. The photo is a HDR panorama stitch of multiple shots and exposures.

I just loved watching the jellyfishes move through the water, it was so relaxing and peaceful. It felt like a choreographed dance under water where the viewer could hear the music only within himself...

As the sun set over the jungle, an ape sat in a pile of colourful exploding powder, saxophone in hand. With each note he played, the powder erupted into a vibrant display of colour and light, creating a mesmerizing performance for all who were lucky enough to witness it.

It is 45 degrees in the shade in the middle of summer. On a sailing trip in the Aegean Sea, we make a short stop in Vlychada Marina, at the island of lost Atlantis: Santorini. They say that the village of Oia has the most beautiful sunsets, so we decide to go there. Just the night before, we discovered this beautiful dress made by a Greek designer. We ride our Vespas to catch the sunset, and I think, "This must have been her inspiration. This magical interplay of blue and white." I am in love with this dream of a dress. We arrive in Oia, and my friend asks me to capture this moment for her yoga blog. It was then and there that the whole composition fell into place: that magical atmosphere, the right place, the right feeling. The warmth, the infinity, the contrast, the deep blue sea,  this dress and a snap to print it all in our memory and yours. I hope you can feel the magic through the picture and it will bring the summer warmth to your heart. XOXO

Into the Blue

The American Southwest is considered one of the most impressive and iconic landscapes of the world. Everyone knows the towering sandstone formations of Monument Valley - it belongs to our collective memory of fascinating sceneries. Much fewer people know, however, the world that lies beneath the surface. The "World of the Slot Canyons". These deep narrow canyons are a magical wonderland of erosion. Buckskin Gulch is the longest in the world. You can walk through for days and lose yourself in its beauty.

During a walk on the beach in Jambiani, I spontaneously photographed the children of the village playing. The children there are happy, although they hardly own anything.
