Invasion Percolation by BarabsiLab

Invasion Percolation is the first network visualization of modern network science and the first generative network art. The algorithm was built by Albert-Lszl Barabsi in 1994, and the surviving 1995 output opened the Hidden Patterns retrospective of BarabsiLab at ZKM Karlsruhe in 2021 and the Ludwig Museum in Budapest in 2020. The release of Invasion Percolation as a generative NFT is part of a hybrid performance involving the metaverse and the traditional gallery and museum space. Each copy of the 782 series, corresponding to the number of links on the published 1995 version of the work, will be printed and each printed works title, permanently recorded on the physical artwork, will be the NFT owner who generates the work. In rare instances, the algorithm will generate sculptures that will be 3D printed. The 2D and 3D prints will be shown at the Cyberart Gallery in Boston, Postmaster Gallery in New York, Ludwig Museum in Budapest (Hungary), and New Kriterion Gallery in Csikszereda (Transylvania, Romania), each location receiving unique artworks. With the release of Invasion Percolation as a generative NFT, empty exhibition spaces will gradually fill in thanks to the actions of the collectors, who generate and name the work.

Facets by conundrumer

"Facets" is a study in intersections of polyhedra and interactions of light.

Polyhedra are distorted and duplicated around a symmetry axis, intersecting and merging into a great diversity of forms. These forms are rendered in a light simulation with different colors and material properties. The sharp edges of the shapes carve out light and space, casting soft shadows, glows, and reflections.

We can move the camera, zoom in and out, and change our perspective. From above, we may see a perfectly symmetrical figure. From below, we may see a grand constructivist sculpture. Zooming in, we see a geometric composition of polygons and gradients. Zooming out, we see the entirety of the form sitting in an endless void. We can turn on the animation and see the shapes shift and fold in on themselves. We can pause the animation and see a new permutation of the shapes. I invite you to manipulate the controls, reframe the composition, and share a new perspective.

Through the Window by Reva

Inspired by traditional Chinese architecture and Chinese painting, this project uses algorithms to generate window lattices with different patterns and blossoms and trees with different postures. Together with the possible rain and snow scenes, they constitute a corner with oriental aesthetic charm. These scenes are dynamic, such as slowly moving window frames, tree-growing, raining. We can imagine being indoors, watching the shaky tree shadow outside the window, or looking into the window from the same perspective as the current picture. Maybe we are looking into memories, maybe we are looking into hopes, anyone can write their own poems.
