"El Yunque" is the name of a beautiful jungle on the island of Puerto Rico. This is the only rainforest in the U.S. National Forest system. Home to one of my favorite creatures in nature, the Coqu frog. Whenever I visit Puerto Rico, i'm on a mission to tap in with the plant and animal kingdom. The symphony of insects, frogs, birds and everything else in nature is one of the most healing soundtracks available to us and its free if you know where to go. 

YUNQUE

Im still learning about her myself as I never knew about this divine spirit before my last prayer. Deep into a psilocin journey, my body dug into a sandy beach next to a very active ocean in Puerto Rico. I began to have this uncontrollable urge to finish a face that I was seeing in the sand from the orange light of the fire bouncing off the imprints in the sand. While my other tribe members were channeling a song, I was compelled to draw with my fingers to finish the figure I was seeing so that someone else could make something of my visions. As the music began to intensify, the drawing turned into a tapping with both index fingers. Seemingly printing some sort of ancient mask into the sand. What it was, I didnt know. I mentioned to my medicine man after the song was done that I had been channeling some sort of figure into the sand. We all took a look and this was what was there...

ATABEY

Slices of TIME is a two-part collection, inspired by TIMEs nearly 100 year history. The collection features four editions: single red border, single white border, double red border, and double white border. The rarity of this collection was determined completely by Slices of TIME collectors and was final and set as of 12pm ET Feb 23, 2022.

The collection includes work by TIME Creative Director DW Pine and 38 incredible artists. TIME selected 19 artists, who in turn picked 19 collaborators, to create two pieces of artone inspired by a year from TIMEs past and one by what they see as a hundred years in the future. So, for example, 1969 and 2069.

As network technologies evolve, we are driven deeper into a world of creative ecosystems, a world where we all rise together. We have realized that our sum is greater than our parts, we have walked back from the dark edges of division, and we work to show that at the center of it all, there is love.

This piece serves as the first dynamic work of art for the Proof of Innovation (POI) series hosted by Transient Labs. 'The Miamien' mint was only available to those holding a POI key.
