Sonhar is the first release of my new series "Ambient Works Series A". These are moments inspired by everything happening in my life. 

The goal is to chronicle this new phase of life in a more direct way. It"s immediate, no hype, no marketing, literally finished hours ago.

Wrote this song about a made up girl who embodies my own insecurity. I"m mean to her because she"s mean to me. We broke up and I"m not mad about it. Happy ever after. The end.

Dragging Chords

Like a lot of the time Dragging Chords was created when I got a new piece of software. I use Reason for producing and theyd recently released their fantastic Chord Sequencer. I ran a pattern out of Reason to trigger my Roland JV-2080 and the result was the main piano/synth you hear in the track. The groove on this is quite pacey and rolling. I wanted to create something for the dancefloor that was uplifting and positive.

This song is about surrendering to life and allowing yourself to flow effortlessly as the sunlight does. Sunlight pulls inspiration from a lot of the music that I was listening to and was inspired by when I first began creating wavs. There"s something beautiful about that youthful time and energy for me. It feels good to go back and start pulling from that place again.

Music is some of my favorite first memories as a child. My parents were free spirits who took me to countless live gigs and organically, it was the medium I gravitated most to in my life. When I was three years old, I begged my grandma for a mini drum set, since my parents couldn"t afford it. Somehow, we found a child-size drum kit for me to start making noise. This was the start of my journey of learning multiple instruments and finding my voice in this language of music.

I grew up playing in bands and recording music from a very young age and always felt the hunger to create. When I started making music on my computer, I fell down the Ableton rabbit hole and it shifted what I thought was possible with music, beyond the things I had been doing in my bands. Not just sonically, but also from a self-reliance point of view. I wanted to see what it would be like to take from that original youthful sonic quality and energy. 

This song takes inspiration from my band days and live instrumentation background, and fuses it with my electronic music experience (using a computer as an instrument). I take a seasonality approach to life and have been in a season of abundant music creation, which reminds me of the child-like wonder I had when I first started making music. This song attempts to capture a piece of that into an audio wav.

I feel in a similar place creatively to when I was younger and more naive, but without the naivety that stops you from actualizing your creations. My hope is for that child-like wonder to spread into the WRLD. 

The golden egg winner will receive the first-ever "tab" pack, an ongoing NFT experience between audiovisual artists karma.wav and rariesthetics.

The packs are collections of highly curated audio and visual loops (called tabs) that later down the line will be a part of a greater experiment, fusing the packs to create improvisational art through live visuals and loops. 

We"re still working out the quirks, but we"re excited about exploring audiovisual performance possibilities and building new ways to create improvisational art. We see the tab packs being a part of a composable (Lego Block Esque) audio and visual loop container. Probably nothing, though ;)

Paint in the Dark

I wrote Paint in the Dark because I needed the reminder that relationships can be playful and colorful instead of defining them by their mistakes. Over the past few years, this song has become a guide back to my emotional center in both my relationships to those around me, as well as in the relationship I have with myself. It has also reminded me how to believe in the joy of relationships again, and I hope that it can be there for anyone who needs that reminder too. 

I cowrote "Paint in the Dark" with one of my best friends on the planet, Dean Woodson, in his bedroom in North Hollywood in late 2019. There was something really special in the air that day. We got together to finish a completely different song, and in the process of recording a guitar part for that song, the guitar part for PITD popped right out. It was as though lightning struck and we could feel it; the static in the room drew the lyrics and melodies out of us effortlessly in a matter of minutes. All of a sudden, the song was done and we celebrated with a burrito from Cilantro Mexican Grill (our favorite local spot at the time).

As the pandemic slowly closed the world, Dean flew back to Paris and we decided in late 2020 to begin producing Paint in the Dark long-distance. We spent countless nights staying up late producing with one another over zoom and facetime, and we were constantly sending texts and voice memos of ideas back and forth while the other slept. It was a beautiful way to continue our friendship and keep ourselves inspired during a moment when the earth felt like it was at its darkest. When we had a good picture of the final song, we brought it to our mentor, Rob Cavallo, to help us over the finish line. 

"Paint in the Dark" released in late 2021 along with an amazing music video shot by one of my best friends Vinsint (@vinsint). I hope you enjoy listening, and as always, thank you for collecting <3

Tope

"Tope" is a song that represents "No more" and an "awakening" in the life of someone who has been attacked from the negative opinions and actions of others. This song has been produced by Colombo and the artwork by Fernando Santana. The sound is characterized by its exploration of R&B and some vocal details that served as the basis for the final composition of the song.

In this next step of the description I am happy to tell those people who have collected "Insert" or/and will collect "Tope" that after the end of this drop, an NFT of the video of this song will be dropped in their Wallets. The recording of this video was very important since it was born from a homemade and amateur idea that made the world know me as an artist, that is, doing everything at home from the composition of the song to the publication of the video on social networks.

Finally, the golden egg of this release represents a very important stage in my life, of which the creation of "Tope" was part, I hope that the collector who wins it will be able to connect a little more with my story. Thank you very much for being here and for allowing me to show you my art.
