"Vocode"

In 2013, my album OUT OF THE BLACK was released. 
In celebration of 10 years, I am releasing this unreleased song Vocode. 

Vocode was a track I made during the Out Of The Black album process, you can hear similarities to Rocky 2 or Touch It and its got that banging vibe from my classic & Down. 
I played it out in clubs in the early 10s, but decided not to include it in the album. If you love the hard & funky sound from that time, heres something special from the vaults that would have been lost to history.

"SHOWSTOP!" is a song that appeals to the rockstar in all of us. It"s about knowing that no matter what may happen one day when its all said and done you gotta get up and give it everything you got the next. It"s about growing up and seeing the glamorous lifestyle that many of us want to live and doing everything in our power to make it happen. It begs us to fully lean into the role of the main character in our own lives and do so with every ounce of our being.

This is the beginning of the Good Society series on sound.

We first want to give a massive thank you to Oshi for launching this new series with us. It means the world that we have this opportunity, as one of the first collectives on Sound, to help bridge the gap between artists and collectors. With this series, we hope to introduce and onboard many artists into the web3 space as well as simply curating incredible new music from all stars of different genres and stages of their career.

If this is your first time hearing of Good Society, we are a Los Angeles based collective who have been throwing events and releasing music over the past 4 years. We are diverse in sound and those who make up our community. Bringing people together over music is our primary purpose :)

You may expect drops from us on here weekly going forward with an emphasis on Hip Hop and Electronic music!

In ACTOR, I touch on my childhood trauma and lifelong effort to recover from it all. I wanted to make this one super bass-heavy to represent how fed I felt when I wrote it. This one goes out to the actor who never gave him a chance to live.

Piece of Shit 

This song is about reflecting on a relationship you had with someone and realizing that they actually weren"t benefiting you at all. It makes a reference to when we get so worked up over someone- who in actuality- really doesn"t deserve our time or energy. 

I wrote this back in September. It was originally a slower song, and Devan came and put it to a new beat. I think it"s really different then anything I"ve done previously. It"s nice to not write a sad love song for once, and actually release something that depicts the opposite of being in love.  

There"s no one specific person that this song is about. It"s just goes out to all those that fumble the bag. If the shoe fits, please wear it :)
