Post Photographic Perspectives is Fellowship's inaugural group show celebrating a new wave of innovation in photography.

As an artist, I have always been drawn to the power of visual storytelling. Through my work, I aim to create images that challenge the viewer's perceptions and encourage them to think deeply about the world around them. I have a diverse background in traditional mediums, such as Photography, 3D and graphic design. Still, when I discovered the world of AI art, I felt liberated from these mediums' constraints. 

In The Great Freeze, I am creating an imaginary event where everything got covered in snow. The collection explores how a photography documentation of this event around the world could look like. My goal is to harness the power of AI to tell stories that inspire, provoke, and engage the viewer on a deep level.

*As a child, I have countless memories of staring out the window on long drives from NY to Maine, where my family vacationed in the summertime. My gaze was always directed up at the large expanse of sky, tracing the lines of clouds and the horizon line on my tongue. Patterns emerged, and thinking flowed in a kind of power that charged my entire being. This sky/pattern gazing continued throughout my life, on bus rides, train rides, up in airplanes, studying the sky as a kind of messenger with visions to relay back to me about my own histories and futures.*
 
Future Skying *is a collection of photographs snapped on my iPhone from the last decade of my travelspictures of skies from within The States and in Europe, pictures of the sky in different seasons, of my own city block, pics snapped from car windows, pics taken while walking. These pictures stayed dormant on my camera roll for some years until a few months ago when I got the idea to use Stable Diffusion to build on these photos with prompts to create subtly fantastical versions of my skies.*
 
*Whenever I look at the sky, it is not just the sky I see. I am looking at the sky with my projections, my magical spells, my imagination. But the cameras eye on my iPhone could not capture my imagination alongside the image of the sky captured. With artificial intelligence, I had the opportunity to attempt a more authentic version of my skies. In this case, using AI actually brings us closer to the real.*
 
*The title* Future Skying *is also a nod to landscape painter John Constables series known as Skying, in which the sky is his main subject. Sometimes there is no land at all and only sky, sometimes the sky is acting as the chief focal point above a tiny sliver of land. Constable was not shy about his passion for the sky. Without the sky, no light could pass through and shine down on our subjects. No tree, no street corner, no person could be perceived without light. We need it all, of course, but the sky holds an important role in making any landscape composition come together. And of course, the sky itself as a subject is worthy in its own right.*

In my series "Overthinking Machines," I dive into how art and technology intersect, focusing on AI"s quirky imperfections. Through "low-confidence" object detection and interpolating/morphing images, I reveal how AI"s attempts to make sense of visuals often result in intriguing errors. Instead of fixing these, I embrace them, inviting viewers to see the creativity behind AI"s misinterpretations.

This work makes us think about the impact of AI"s mistakes in a world filled with surveillance. It questions the thin line between watching and overstepping, suggesting how these AI errors reflect deeper concerns about privacy and our digital existence.

"Overthinking Machines" acts as a snapshot of AI today, reminding us that each error is a step toward future breakthroughs. As AI quickly evolves, this collection encourages us to see AI/computer vision not just as a tool but as a partner in creativity, pushing us to imagine a new blend of art, technology, and surveillance.

STATIC DISPERSALS & RECONSTRUCTED FABLES BY LEGIO X

STATIC DISPERSALS & RECONSTRUCTED FABLES is a 32-piece series that emerges as an inquiry into the intersections of auditory heritage and visual futurism. This deliberate choice of words, a playful twist on the album titled "Static Disposal" by an obscure mid-70s acid-punk ensemble named Debris, serves as a bridge between the ephemeral and the eternal, a nod to an album that, according to legend, was recorded in one afternoon under the influence of LSD. But the resonance of "Static Dispersals" extends beyond homage, echoing the foundational principles of "Stable Diffusion" in a serendipitous convergence of initials (S.D.), hinting at the chaotic coherence that underpins the artist"s work. The engine of LEGIO X"s race car, a metaphor for Stable Diffusion, powers the dynamic visual narratives that unfold across the canvas, each frame a testament to the unseen forces that drive creativity.


With "Reconstructed Fables," the artist weaves another layer into their conceptual experiments, cleverly referencing REM"s album "Reconstruction of the Fables." This allusion is not casual; it is a deliberate reflection on the band"s ability to infuse their work with layers of cryptic meaning, an approach that profoundly resonates with the artist"s method. The homage extends to Lucas Samaras"s "Reconstructions," a series of abstract quilts from the late 70"s; this collision of high art and folk art informs the artist"s visual language and connects to an intensely personal narrative. In the words of LEGIO X himself:


"One could yammer on about the collision between high-art and folk-art modes but for me this is a personal matter. Some of my earliest memories are of waking up and pondering the puzzle-patterns of the crazy quilt that kept me warm the night before. Crazy quilts which were handmade by my grandmother who was half-Cherokee and raised with no formal education. She was never able to read or write but every year her quilts won awards at the local County Fair - and even after her eyesight failed her she would have the cut fabric pieces described to her by color and pattern which she would then carefully arrange into stacks to sew her latest quilt with. I kept several of her quilts in my sleeping rotation until a few years ago when the last one finally aged into tatters. But my love for abstract patterns and color-clash geometrics will never fade away, and these pieces are a testament to that, think of them as crazy quilt motion pictures."
The artist"s childhood memories, cradled in the warmth of their grandmother"s crazy quilts, serve as a poignant backdrop to their creative journey. These quilts, a patchwork of colors and patterns handcrafted by a woman whose life was a tapestry of resilience and creativity, become a metaphor for the artist"s work. The quilts" abstract beauty and the story of their creation inspire the artist"s exploration of color, pattern, and movement, transforming each piece into a dynamic narrative, a visual symphony that invites viewers into a game of hide and seek with the ephemeral and the concrete.


Each work is an invitation to a dialogue, a challenge to perceive beyond the surface, to engage with the layers of meaning and emotion that pulse beneath. This is not art that seeks to provide answers but rather to provoke questions, to stir the soul, and engage the mind in a perpetual dance of discovery and interpretation. Through "Static Dispersals" and "Reconstructed Fables," the artist beckons us to explore the liminal spaces between past and present, between the tactile memories of heritage and the boundless possibilities of the digital age. In this journey, we are not mere observers but active participants, invited to find our reflections within the intricate weave of visual and conceptual narratives that the artist lays before us.

Bright Moments

"Caminos" es la relacin del trabajo de artista con el uso de colores y geometra a travs de los los patrones, situaciones, personas y objetos en los mercados, las calles, los edificios, los colores y dems elementos que consituyen la ciudad. Esta obra es un tributo a esa cultura, similar a una ciudad que se va creando mediante capas, dando como resultado un caos formado a partir del color, de diversas geometras y ms elementos que van cambiando a travs del tiempo.

La composicicin final de este proyecto es conformada por 5 capas que van creandose con el paso de los segundos dentro de la obra. Con las teclas 1 - 5 puedes interactuar con cada capa que va generando la composicin final dando la posibilidad al usuario de tener 5 piezas dentro de una obra, pero sobre todo generar una experiencia que le permita tomarse el tiempo necesario para explorar, encontrar, disfrutar distintos patrones y elementos dentro de cada capa y dentro de la composicin final. Asi como explorar la ciudad, sus distintos espacios, situaciones y cambios con el paso de los aos.
