In Spring of 2022, Forefront announced a 2-week Open Call for applicants to the Web3 Creator Residency. 100 incredible applicants came pouring in from all over the world. We struggled mightily to narrow the field down to 16 Finalists. Then came the day we announced the 6 Resident Creators. We created this video to commemorate this special moment, standing on the cusp of our W3CR journey. Were gifting this NFT to the community members who made this journey possible.

It has been 7 months since I dropped my last Music NFT and I have been working day in and day out. We have been doing daily Underground Violet Rave spaces for the past 10 months growing the community.

This track will be my return to finally preview the music I been working on for my upcoming major project Raver Realm. 

This track was recorded in New York City in a night where I just felt like there was too much judgement in the world. Too many people telling me what type of music I am "supposed" to make. I wanted to create something that just brings the energy needed to ignore all the outside noise and have everyone turn up. 

So much love to everyone that takes the time to listen, I cannot wait until you guys hear the rest of the music on the Raver Realm project because it will blow your mind.

Aggressive, manic, and totally fun, it hits like a carnival ride that yearns to be revisited at least a dozen times, yet somehow never becomes dizzying. 

Written together and produced by DEEGAN, here's how the duo describes IM MY OWN ENEMY:

I've been making a lot of soul and r&b, but started hitting a wall. I was like, I'm angry. I can't do this. I'm too distracted. I'm too in my own head, so I wanted to make something aggressive to get my energy out. Every artist has that feeling of the cloud hanging over them like, You have to do this. You have to do that, says DEEGAN. 

I mostly only write good songs when I'm either really fucking mad or really fucking sad, Mija chimes in with encouraging affirmation.

An energetic dance record layered with rap elements while maintaining a strong rave soundscape thats sure to keep dancefloors busy. The pulsating kicks are paired with a synth bassline, very complimentary to the memorable vocal chops echoed throughout the song. The Holy showcases his ability to keep the listeners intrigued by constantly implementing dramatic build ups and beat drops when you least expect them. The result is an intense nightclub jam that makes for the perfect party starter.

Mau Montekio is a trance producer in Mexico. He got connected to RAWRA through the incredible Alex Purdy. In fall of 2021, Mau and RAWRA collaborated to create what became "Collide," a trance pop ballad about how "tu media naranja" your "other half" might not really be it... It's the push and pull between wanting to be with someone who isn't for you and universe being like "let 'em go bb." 

Collide was written while RAWRA was a community engagement artist in residence at the Arthouse in Syracuse, NY. Last fall (2022), they wrapped on the Collide music video in collaboration with Schnell Mode, RedHouse Theater, The Little Room Art Gallery, and special thanks to American High,  -- stay tuned for a lot of oranges getting juicy ;)
