Been holding onto this song. I don't think I was ready to share it with the world, or at least the part of the world that's listening. There was a time where I couldn't even play the song for myself. 

A funny thing I have said before about being an artist is that it's the only profession where your next partner will know all about your last one. What comes with that is everyone else knowing as well. 

Many of you may know me as an extrovert(?) but truly I enjoy keeping to myself and not oversharing outside my close circle. This song was more of a therapy for me so I didn't feel the need to rush it out. I'll start here.

Here"s some background on the track! I grew up in the church. I learned the rules, the christian lingo, the do"s and don"ts, ALL OF IT. As i"ve aged, i"ve come to believe love is what matters, not a set of religious rules that we must all abide by. I am not spreading hate towards any religion, i"m only shining a light on my experience with it. This song is hard for me to write and release... i"m clueless as to what my family will think of it and how they might see me for it. I"m just sick of watching religion breed hate and, equally so, all the hate people have towards religion. There is such a massive divide in the world and we forget we are all one. I hope you all can take time to truly listen to the lyrics.

This is song 2 from CACOPHONY, a new project from Reo Cragun and myself. CACOPHONY is a beautiful explosion. Deafeningly loud and chaotic and intimate at the same time.

The jig is up is honestly about reading through the facade and peoples BS. 

The road of an independent artist can be extremely difficult at first, but if you put in the work it can prove to be really rewarding. Fortunately now Im in a position where I dont have to jump at a major label deal anymore and have the means to comfortably support myself. Oddly enough its at that point when a lot of people come knocking to partner. 

We were really just having fun with this record and reflecting on the level weve gotten to based off hard work and staying consistent.

Having fun was so key with this one. Reo and I make a lot of heavy shit together (like the first single from CACOPHONY, HEAVEN) but its important to balance that with music that makes you feel good, makes you feel powerful. it's friday still

on monday i went to big bear with a bunch of my friends to see the first snowfall of the year, but it ended up just torrentially raining for the first day, like so bad that the power went out.

we finally got our snow, and that day the crypto market imploded, my friend crashed his car, AND i got sick. 

i managed to get out of bed over the next two days enough to appreciate the snow outside, but was pretty fucking bedridden. so much so that i missed uploading friday's song yesterday.

so i wrote this to cheat the system.

Son of a Gun.  One of my favorites off the upcoming album.  Something that feels like it has centuries of history behind it.  It was supposed to be the intro, then the outro, then found itself at track 10.  This song is probably the most New England//CT thing Ive made.   I was scared of it for a while because of this reasons - it"s out there. It has a lot of Christian Felner (my real name) in it.  Felly takes a seat for this one.  But it has this dark tone to it that I think is sacred and true to me. It feels like a horse.  You ever look into a horses eyes?  Feels like you can see hundreds of years in there.  I dont think many people understand this song and I always look at people after playing it and just sitting with the fact that, from where I stand, it seems it went right over their head. The song is sort of about only being here for a period of time. The fragility of life, and how we"re all alone.  And that feeling you can reach in life where there is no place to actually call home.  Being cast into the world alonepretty much.  It comes from touring, from meeting so many strangers, and ultimately feeling like its still just me.  If you get this one you get it and if you dont that"s alright with me.
