The Raikas of Marwar

The Raika or Rebari are one of the groups of livestock herders inhabiting the western districts of Marwar region of Rajasthan, India. They were the traditional caretakers of the camel herds belonging to the Maharajahs.
Parched skin, chiseled faces with sunken eyes tell many stories of their nomadic lifestyle in the heat and sun of the Thar desert. 
The Raikas live in tight and enclosed communities and they have a very strong bond with their animals from the time they are born until they die. With a lifespan of almost 50 years, an animal may well outlive its owner.

Buzkashi is Afghanistans national sport. The sport has been played across Central Asia for hundreds of years. It involves two teams on horseback trying to pull a headless, dead goat to one area in a field. Through foreign invasions, civil wars and the recent return of Taliban rule, Afghans have continued to gather to cheer on their favorite buzkashi riders.

Forgotten Town

The town of Karabash, close to the heavy industry center of Cheliabinsk, in the Ural region of Russia, which the UN has marked as one of the most polluted spots in the world in its environmental pollution reports. The toxic fumes from the chimneys of unfiltered copper factories and the pouring acid rains had filled the waters of the artificial pond in Karabash with heavy metals. The pond, which was the only entertainment for the children of the poor town, was actually as dangerous as a time bomb.

Tiramis Coastline it"s sibling to Playa De Los Muertos and rightfully so. It"s located right next to it being the western view of the same region. The name it"s no more than a banter picked up by me and an obvious one since it resembles the famous and delicious italian dessert.

The territory faces the Mediterranean Sea, next to the border that divides the European and African tectonic plates. This is one of the few sub-desert areas in Europe and was the first maritime and terrestrial Protected Area in Andalusia.

Short story about this photo (and exactly the same as to Playa De Los Muertos) - it was taken back in summer 2020 when the whole world was on halt. Since it was hard to travel by plane, i decided to go on a road trip to Spain and discover the marvellous region of Andalusia known for its unique desert landscapes, strong culture and sunny beaches with crystal-clear waters on the Mediterranean Sea surrounded by rocky cliffs .
