How would you design an album if every track was meant to change?
 
Altered is the first audio visual Music Blueprints project that explores the concept of a non-concrete album. Created with 30+ collaborators and over 6600 possible unique combinations derived from 11 songs, Altered is one step further into an immersive and surreal album experience with every mint. 
 
Each song generated finds Ricky Lake in a new dreamlike environment comprised of visual elements, created by Wables using dall*e, and representing his collaborators. This includes the possibility for different producers, features, bass lines, drum patterns, genres, remixes, audio effects, and more, all represented uniquely and often.
 
The unique combo count also includes 8 Legendaries featuring 3D rendered artwork by XD.rar

Loop Jam 0 (#PhaseDance)

So, while I make a lot (A LOT) of beats, original compositions, remixes, reworks, and the like, my favorite creations are the ones where I flex my musicality in a more traditional format. These "Loop Jams" and "Jam Sessions" I have originally were ultra-personal for me, virtually for my ears only. Of the 10-12 I may have liberated so far, there exist over 100 variations, both unfinished or roughly arranged into otherwise finished tracks, with me usually setting the musical landscape for me to play my own solos, arrange crazy bridges and vamps, and assemble layers upon layers upon layers of interconnected sounds and phrases, just because I can.

Firstly, what"s special about the cover is that it is my genesis DALL-E creation, in which I describe for it, "A translucent, glowing man playing a grand piano, floating through space with an Old Fashioned cocktail and a joint floating behind him, and the Milky Way in the background". I think DALL-E nailed it, don"t you?

This track is special, however, because I sample a similar arrangement from one of my late father and I"s favorite musicians, Pat Metheny, for what is easily one of my favorite arrangements of all time, "Phase Dance". I hope with every track like this that I do, I am honoring both him and our favorite artist, and that the energy you feel when you listen to this inspires the same kind of feeling I get when I listen to his records: hope, for the future, for all of eternity...

Lost in Translation:

i"ve been through countless situations since childhood where i couldn"t understand or express in the language of the country i was living in. however, during all those time, music was something i could always express myself through and be understood by others; a way to communicate with one another through sound. 

part 1 was made when i went to Prague, Czech Republic in 2011 for a semester for a study abroad program in NYU. little did i know that it would be a major turning point in my musical life. this tune is how i perceived and understood the city of Prague and during my european stint.
