Being There

There was no more sun, no more wind, no more people.  So agent C boarded her ship and went up. Up and up and up past the disease and the filth and the orange clouds so thick with guilt that they held her and cried as she barely pierced their fat. When she reached the black of space a weight was lifted and she wept.  Looking down at earth one final time, C decided that her home was no longer her home but a cabin in the woods of regret.  Somewhere far away a space port called to her and begged for her to arrive.  The silence sounded like rage, but the weapon would be ready when she awoke from her 30 year slumber. 432 days into the sleep she would dream again and she prayed for a good dream.   This is her dream, this is our dream the danger is big but wed rather have a broken skull than a broken heart. One day we will be there, until that day we will think only about being there.

HYPNO was inspired from a convo between MeLo-X & i expressing how music is such a powerful source of energy, some what euphoric. The energy of Hip-Hop can be compared to being Hypnotized from the beat, words and energy. Having the ability to alter emotions and take you to another place. Our art holds power so lets be sure we are using it in the right way.

This track was originally schedule to drop on an unreleased project completely produced by MeLoX back in 2016. To be able to finally share this with Web3 truly means a lot and also a reminder that music from the heart will always remain timeless.

Bored Brothers

We are the Bored Brothers. A fully animated NFT-based recording artist project developed and executive produced by Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic) and KYGO. As avid NFT / Web3 enthusiasts, we conceived the idea of auditioning some of our Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) apes to form an animated, multi-genre duo based primarily in dance and hip-hop. This project stems from an overwhelming desire to curate and create music outside our respective genres. Were flirting with everything from deep house to Miami bass and deeper dance genres like Phonk.

The Bored Brothers are musically unlike any other DJ/artist project. With the actual Bored Ape NFTs themselves as the artists -  the world we live in is unlimited, both visually and dimensionally. We live and work in the real world and in real venues as easily as the metaverse itself. There will be collaborations, there will be experimentations, and there are no rules. We care about having a good time, always bringing the party, and seeing the world while in the process. 

Our lead single, DRIP, helps set the wave but is just one piece of the Bored Brothers puzzle. All shall soon be revealed.

Recently I"ve realized that I really miss making dance music. I really miss putting things out that are fun and feel good. When I started "Alamo", I instantly locked myself into the project and let everything out. It"s a little chaotic, but playful. 

Growing up listening lots of breakbeats and funk, I always envision images of people of the past dancing. 

Music that speaks to you can really evoke memories or fictional stories in your head. Music that really speaks to you might generate a new story each time you listen to it again. I have had so many great conversations with friends about what they see in their heads when they listen to certain songs.

Here"s a short summary of a vision I"m seeing now while listening to "Alamo":

It"s 2050...

Imagine you"re with your best friend in a drop top in the desert. You don"t recognize your best friend, for some reason, but you know they"re your best friend.

Somehow it"s getting darker in the sky even though it"s in the middle of the day and also getting hotter. Both of you start sweating buckets and the car is also bunny hopping up and down, side to side.

You both decide to take off your t-shirts, but when each t-shirt is removed another one is there in its place. This keeps going on and you decide to just keep driving and smoking. You forget about taking off the t-shirts, because there are vampires next to your car chasing you. You have absolutely no way of surviving unless you turn on your hyper thrusters and blast off to the Alamo - somewhere warmer and sunnier. 

Somehow it doesn"t take that long for both of you to get close to the Alamo. Gas prices are nonexistent in 2050, as cars are mostly urine-powered. The sun comes out when you both arrive at the Alamo and things cool off. You put on hoodies. Everything fades to black.
