Welcome to PIN002.

Every month I will be going to a new location with a friend and making a song with them. 

Whatever demo we have at the end of the trip will be minted on Sound, along with other activations across Web3. No additional edits, no overthinking. Just making music and throwing it up for the world to judge. I've always wanted to drop songs at the same time that the NFT drops and this is my way of taking steps in that direction.

For the second episode I went to Ojai with DLG. where we were graciously hosted by Sojai studios. We made a few records but Cage was the first one we did and it was the one that ended up sticking the most. The song has a lot to do with a conversation we had on the drive up where we talked about the necessity of restrictions when it comes to creativity.

  Before Web3 I was 100% dedicated to songwriting, I always liked rapping, it was the first genre I fell in love with! but I put it aside with the excuse that it was a hobby for me, that I liked being behind the scenes. A year ago I decided that in addition to being a composer, I also wanted to release my music, I felt the call to express what I have inside, and this feeling coincided with the moment I met Web3, it was as if the universe was telling me: Hey you have talent and energy, now I"m going to give you the tools. It"s funny, because people saw me and thought I was joking until they heard me rapping... Now, I have more conviction than anyone, and I even created my own crowdfund to be able to finance my first album as a rapper, to become the first latin artist to be born with Web3.

This is my first Hip Hop  song in the space, I had to save it for Sound XYZ. I"m serious when I say I want to make a historic album for rap in Spanish. This song is just the appetizer of all the fire that I"m going to give you, and I wrote it in a small room in my house, inspired by the Californian vibe and my life experiences. 

It talks about how this dream doesn"t let me sleep, I feel it all day in my chest telling me to keep pushing, because it"s not only going to change my life, but also my family, my colleagues and all the people I love. It talks about how I chose art above all else, because this is what I was born for and I just discovered. Rap is in my veins, despite the fact that I wasnt born in a city totally influenced by hip hop or trap... it was something innate, that was given to me in an inexplicable way.

The music was made by Yogev, a friend with whom I made a lot of music in the past and with whom I met again on Web3... I already had the idea of the lyrics and the melody, I even knew how I wanted to structure the beat, but I needed a person who understood me and could maximize my ideas. I immediately thought of Yogev, because he was one of the people who told me that I should release my rap when I was just a songwriter, And I knew how talented he was musically.

I want to dedicate this song to all my friends from Web3 who have supported me since day one, and who saw potential in me and my vision. Thank you for collecting,  motivating me and advising me, you are part of this. I promise you the best is about to come.

SLOW DOWN

Hey guys its SLOE JACK. Im beyond excited to be back on Sound to premiere my upcoming track, SLOW DOWN. It is one of the 4 new singles on my debut project, BACKSTAB.

SLOW DOWN is about having big dreams in a room full of doubters. As someone who grew up in a small country town, I quickly learned that the people I surround myself with will determine my future. This song talks about the judgement that surrounded me before I moved to the city and the importance of self belief. 

This is the focus track off my debut EP BACKSTAB. 

BACKSTAB dives into the events of my abusive upbringing and my life-long battle with trauma and self sabotage. It dissects the moment in my life where I reject happiness and stability in pursuit of chaos. This project was very therapeutic to write!

Finally, Id like to thank everyone at Sound for welcoming me back on their platform. I am so thankful for the opportunity!

This song is near and dear to my heart. It"s the third track on my "Life After Life" album (every buyer receives the album free as an airdrop) and it"s autobiographical. I particularly enjoy the opening lyric which goes: "I look at my life and I don"t know what it is I"m doing... and all my dreams seem superfluous." Man, that is dope. Well, I partnered with illustrator Dave Cole on this one and he"s drawn five different designs for the track, each based on his own interpretation of the song. I really hope you like each and all of them.

This NFT is priced at .05 ETH and there"s 1,111 total supply. Few cool perks we"re doing are: 

1) After 555 sold buyer can redeem NFT for vinyl "Life After Life" album (buy extra so you have digital and physical!).

The words Broken Child have many meanings. When creating this piece, I wanted to highlight the light and color we obtain when overcoming being broken. The love for ourselves we feel once we become our own person. The flowing energy that explodes out of us once we become who we are meant to be. 

Being broken can always be fixed.
