While profits stack up, the true costs distribute.

_StackSlash_ utilizes a 2D rigid-body physics engine for composition. Rectangular bodies are placed within a scene and the forces of gravity and collision guide them into a stable resting state.
The rendering of the system occurs in two parts: While interacting, the bodies are rendered in a 2D canvas to allow fluid manipulation. Once the system arrives in a stable configuration, a heavier WebGL rendering step creates and applies surface textures to the bodies.
The system is fully responsive and can extend to any viewport size upon interaction. The composition is initially presented in its default 3:4 deterministic state.

Outputs will vary by shape, position, colours, textures & output ratios. The name Apollo was inspired by French poet Guillaume Apollinaire, who originally coined the term Orphism with which this collection has close ties.

I spent a few days meticulously planning this shot of the Blue Super Moon, ensuring every aspect from the moon"s path to its luminous glow over Sumner"s Shag Rock was perfect. Arriving early, Sumner"s tranquility set the scene, lot"s of anticipation building.

Did you know? Only 3% of all full moons are blue moons. This Super Moon, larger by 14% and brighter by 30%, made the night even more surreal.
This happens only once every 20 years give or take.

For this NFT, I"ve set an accessible price, reaching out to the incredible community and moon enthusiasts.

Grails IV

The advancement of my art involved sequential, gradual, and consistent experimentation. It was never a binary of a certain style "working" and another "failing". The changes over time flowed, one after another, and came to me naturally. I went where the art took me. It required hundreds of artworks before my art arrived to where it is today, where it is still evolving, and will evolve perpetually.
The exhibited piece, Paying Debts is from a time where the strictly-collage style was expanding with a layer of illustrations. The main classical art piece that "Paying Debts" is based on is "The Last Statement" by Arthur Kampf.
During this time, my art was much simpler in its detail. I do not remember exactly, but this piece probably took me a few hours over the course of a few days to create. It shows the combination of collage with immature illustration on top. The faces on the characters foreshadow the creation of my colorful, hooded characters called "fiends". The clouds in the background were illustrated by me, but are far less detailed than the clouds I draw today.
This piece is important to me because it shows how far my art has come. My work gained traction in 2021, but not many people have looked back at my older work and how it has consistently evolved into where it is today. Its important to look back into any artists career to see first-hand that it is almost never an overnight "success."

In Interference, Phaust foregrounds two scientific discoveries in a search for purity of generative systemsan 18th century German physicist and a 20th century Japanese electronics corporation.

Investigating acoustics, Ernst Chladni took a violin bow and drew it against a metal plate lightly covered with sand. When the plate reached resonance the sand would settle on particular nodal linesleaving what is known as Chladni patterns. These proved to be important in fields as diverse as acoustics and instrument design to wave theory and quantum mechanics.

Chladni patterns vary according to a range of factors and can be described with some pleasingly simple equations. Those equations lie at the heart of this collection and perhaps show generative art at its purest: a set of simple equations which give rise to near infinite variation.

Phaust drew upon a 1980 invention by the Riso Kagaku Corporation to bring these forms to lifea machine that looks like a photocopier but works like a screen printer. The Risograph uses stencils and vibrant semi-transparent spot color inks to print a single layer of color at a time, producing prints that are vivid, textured and unique thanks to subtle imperfections in the printing process.

Interference embraces the quirks of Risograph printing, adopting the semi-transparent colors of Riso inks and exaggerating the mis-alignment found on Risograph prints. Instead of plotting solid bands of color, the collection mimics the texture of Risograph prints through over half a million distinct tiles, each subtly varied in shape and color. This treatment suggests mosaics when viewed up close and harkens back 200 years to sand particles settling along nodal lines on Chladni's plates.

Unlike earlier collections such as Pointilla, where the artists had to define much of the forms through code, this is fundamentally a handful of mathematical functions and transformations that create a dramatic variation of composition. Phaust chooses to break the faithful presentation of a physical phenomenon by deviating from standard Chladni patterns  introducing polar coordinates that create a pinching effect to otherwise more rounded forms and an additional distortion that occasionally disturbs these flows. These interventions remind the viewer that this is an unreal depiction, algorithmically generated.

This mathematical and conceptual simplicity speaks directly to the beauty of generative systems. By foregrounding a familiar physical phenomenon, the vibration of sound, Phaust elevates the unique beauty of generative art.

Rotor by Sebastin Brocher (CryptoArte)

Inspired by the physics behind electrical motors and alternators, Rotor projects varied shapes in circular motions to convey the ever turning, invisible magnetic fields that make elements go around. At a more basic level the work also explores how polygonal shapes can morph into circular sections and vice-versa.

With a subtle hint to information theory, the animation automatically pauses at a very specific moment (depending on traits) whereas the evolution thus far is condensed and captured into the still thumbnail. While the thumbnail possesses lower entropy than the full animation, studying it can reveal many of the traits a mint has and, once familiar with the collection, enable imagining its plausible history and future.

After clicking on the artwork, the following commands are available:
