Buachaille Etive Mr is an imposing mountain in Scotland that rises majestically above the Glencoe valley. In the afternoon, a storm was approaching in Playa Zancudo; within minutes, rain clouds dramatically covered the sun. An impressive show of wind and rain began, with the stunning display of clouds. Shortly after the photo was taken, the sky suddenly turned pitch black. All in a natural spectacle unlike any other.

After an exciting safari trip in Amboseli National Park in Kenya, we saw a beautiful sunset in the rearview mirror which we couldn"t miss. As we were getting ready to take the photo, we saw the last herd of wildebeests marching into the twilight.

Kurt Tucholsky  As the Old City of Jerusalem was being bathed in a golden soft warm light, I was drawn to this group of Eritrean pilgrims walking down the Via Dolorosa. Touched by the tranquil beam of light as it flooded the pilgrims" white robes, I could not leave this atmosphere uncaptured.

Green Elixir at Dawn

During a family trip to Viareggio, a town overlooking the Italian seaside, I took this photo which shows a striking contrast between a green algae-covered tree trunk on the beach and a dark cloudy sky. I wanted to capture the atmosphere, so I made a hand-held triple exposure and merged the images to recreate the scene"s mood. I had to be quick because my son was cold and urged already for a hot chocolate. 

Power of Nature

This amazing view of the stars above Gorg Blau in the mountains of Mallorca was done at a cold Dezember night, some hours before fullmoon rise. It snowed some days before, like it hasn"t for 20 years, so it was very special to see these mountains covered in snow. The photo is a HDR panorama stitch of multiple shots and exposures.
